Weekend Headlines Jan 27-29th Part 2: Updates, Patches and Release Dates

By Rebecca Smith,
15 announcements might seem like a lot, but we now have a similar number of updates and a few release dates that were also revealed over the three-day period.

Updates and Game Patches

We'll begin with Playstation Now. Europe added the following titles to their list:
Moving on to games, Enter the Gungeon detailed the Supply Drop Update that is due to release on Playstation 4 this week. The update adds nearly 200 rooms, new weapons, enemies, companions, bosses and shrines to the game. The new weapons include the Bullet Gun, a bullet shaped gun that fires more guns, which in turn shoot bullets. Confused yet? Ser Junkan is one of the new companions, and he will be able to gain strength and power as you carry more junk through the Gungeon.

Fallout 4 will also be updated to version 1.9 this week, adding support for the increased power of the PS4 Pro. Amongst the enhanced lighting and graphical features that it will provide, players will get native 1440p resolution, enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs, and enhanced Godray effects.

PS4 Pro Patch

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was updated to version 3.51, bringing "several additions and refinements to Eorzea, including adjustments to the anima weapon story quests". You can find the full patch notes below:

Neverwinter's patch had a much more complicated name: NW.70.20161205a.11. What wasn't that complicated was the issues that it fixed. Take a look:

Paragon introduced a new patch and a new hero. The full patch notes are rather large and can be found here if you wish. In the meantime, Aurora brings the number of characters in the game to 27. She's a crowd control specialist who can use the cold to freeze enemies.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore's update brought along cross-platform multiplayer lobbies for all three Playstation platforms. There was also a large amount of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks; you can find an exhaustive list here. The patch is now available on all three platforms in Europe and North America. The patch is being prepared for submission in Japan.

In contrast to the last two titles, the patch notes for Sports Bar VR v1.07 were relatively short. Players will no longer get a festive feeling as these decorations have been replaced with inflatable balloons. They've also added "clearer hints to learn controls" and have fixed the issue with spin.

Titanfall 2's upcoming update will add Live Fire mode to the game. The mode's designer, Griffin Dean, answered some commonly asked questions about the mode. You can read all about it here. He also confirmed that Live Fire will be just the first of many content updates that will arrive throughout 2017. Upcoming content also includes, new Prime Titans, cosmetics, Pilot execution, a new weapon and the return of a fan favourite map from the original title: Colony. Live Fire will be available next month while Colony will arrive in March. Take a look:
