If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for an interview, or would just like to send us any feedback, please send a PM to ExtremePhobia. Thanks! It's been a little while, but it's time for another great Community Interview. Today we get to meet RockLadette85, Queen of Classic Games and mutant camel destroyer! If you like your deep cuts, then strap yourselves in, there are both good and bad memories within!
RockLadette85Brandon: First things first, what is the origin of your PSN ID?
I copied it from my Gamertag that I’ve had for years. Basically I like rock music, and I’m not lady like at all.Well, Rock is clearly the best genre of music. What about your Avatar? Where does that come from?
Good old Spyro, both that and Crash were two of my favourite original PS1 games. When did you start gaming, how did you get into it, and what was your first console?
As long as I can remember really. It started with the Commodore 64. I can't remember if it was my mum's or if my parents bought it for me and my brother, but i do remember spending a lot of time on it. I played games like Dizzy and Attack of the Mutant Camels a lot, as well as the many games that would come on the tapes you get with the magazines. What was your favorite game growing up?
Do any of your family members game?
Too many to choose from. I didn't really play many shooter games growing up, but my mum and I played the hell out of Contra
. That was great fun. Loved the Command and Conquer
games. I played them both on PC and PS, but my all time favourite has to be Final Fantasy VII
. Spent so many hours on that, and I can’t wait for the remake
My mum used to back in the days of the NES/SNES and PS1. She was a bigger Crash fan than I, but she doesn't really console game anymore, opting mainly for free phone and PC games instead. My brother seems to have lost interest in gaming, too, even though when we were kids we used to fight over games. My grandad still has an old Game Boy that he plays. It chewed through batteries, but the Game Boy was a sturdy machine! What pays the bills to fund your gaming skills?
My job as a Payroll Officer. It's a job I sort of fell into, but it's something I really enjoy!Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?
i enjoy art, and I even integrate that with drawing game characters. I also like reading. My boyfriend has got me into the GoT series. What is your current family situation? Spouse, kids, pets, etc?
Got a boyfriend who I’ve been with for 9 months. No kids. Would love more pets other than fish, but in my current living situation, that's not possible. I share a house with my grandad, brother and his girlfriend, and my nephew is there three days a week also.I feel like we could wring a sitcom out of that. Where in the world are you from, and is there anything tourist worthy to see if we were to visit?
Milton Keynes, England. I’ve lived here all my life, so I’ve seen it develop over the years. The main attraction for tourists is the Xscape building where there is an indoor ski slope and indoor skydiving, though I have done neither. We also have a great concert venue called The Bowl. I’ve seen my favourite band Bon Jovi there many times.Have you done anything in life that is worthy of a trophy? What would it be called?
Always been proud of the fact that I've always been in employment since leaving school and never having to rely on anyone for money.I feel like we could work that into a Final Fantasy game! “Job Master” perhaps? If you could play one game for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sims. It's the kind of game that you say, “I’ll play this for half hour or so,” and four hours later it’s well after midnight and you're still playing it.What upcoming release are you most excited for?
FF7 Remake, Telltale’s Walking Dead Season 3, and the new Pokemon game. I’ll be getting Sun while the other half is getting MoonSure beats buying both versions for yourself! Have you ever gotten really excited about a game and it failed to meet expectations?
LostThere was a while there where we just could not get a decent licensed game for anything. Is there anything that makes you feel proud to be a gamer?
. I was a huge fan of the show, but the game just didn't live up to expectations. Seems to be a running theme as it was the same with the Prison Break
game, and the The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
The fact that I have been gaming since the NES era, and I've seen so many great consoles come and go and been able to enjoy the excitement of new consoles being announced. What is your proudest Platinum trophy/completion?
Ni No Kuni’s “the Mad Scientist” trophy was such a grind.
That seems like a hell of a final trophy! Have you earned one that isn't hard at all, but was just really fun to obtain?
What major trophy do you have your eye on, and do you think you'll be able to get it?
”Ruby Render” in FF7. I was never able to defeat this damn weapon in the original PS1 version, so I'm determined to beat it now.
If you were to make you as a character, what would your build be?
Probably something similar to Lara Croft.Definitely a great ideal! Just be sure not to get impaled, yeah? If you could become a video game character, who would it be?
Clem from Walking Dead. She became such a badass in Season 2, and I can’t wait to see how she turns out for Season 3.Who would you choose as your sidekick/ bodyguard?
Red XIII from FF7. Always been a favourite character of mine.He was the original Vivi to me. We have had a large number of game bosses over the years. Which one would you least like to face if you were in a game?
Probably Mr. X from RE2. I could never play those games when I was younger as they terrified me. I could only ever watch my cousin play. You are given the power to expel one character from gaming history; who would it be and why?
Princess Peach, seriously, learn some self-defence skill or something, woman.Indeed! At some point, you’ve got to draw the line! Are there any types of characters or stories you'd like to see more of?
Survival games. Not necessary zombie survival as there are plenty of them, but ones like The Sims Castaway for the PS2. Is there a certain group of friends with whom you usually play games or speak to in a party?
Have you ever had any bad experiences with another player online?
Not really. I mainly play solo. The only other person I really game with is my BF. He's on this site, too: rdenton85
). I only really play multiplayer if it's needed for a trophy.
Been sent a dick pic once. I really don't get why guys want us to see that. Other than that, no.I have my theories, but whatever the reason, here’s some advice to fellas out there: If you are unaware of the fact that women by and large do not dig this type of behavior, then that’s an indication of why you’re single — you’re not listening. (NOTE: If you’re in a relationship with the person already, that’s a different story.) Are you a single- or multiplayer type of person?
Single playerIf you could sit down with anyone in the world, past or present, and play a game with him or her, who would it be?
Norman Reedus.Well, you may get your wish in a form when Death Stranding finally releases. If you could reboot/remaster a single franchise/game, what would it be, why would you do it, and how?
Destruction Derby. I'm not a massive racing game fan, but having a game where the goal isn't just about finishing first so much as who can smash the most really appealed to me.If you could choose a game to be announced tomorrow, what would it be? If it's an IP new to gaming, who would you want to make it?
Red Dead Redemption 2. Normally Wild West type games don't interest me but added the open world element to it made it really enjoyable.(Editor’s Note: I got this response probably 12 hours before RDR2 was announced! Happy Wish Fulfillment!) Do you have any awkward game moments where someone walked in on a scene completely out of context?
Not that I can remember. My 5-year old nephew is always bursting into my room when I'm gaming, but he normally finds inappropriate things hilarious. Like flinging turds in South Park.Which consoles do you currently own?
PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, XBox One,3DS and WII U, so basically all of them, haha.We just need to get you a Vita, and then set you loose on some legacy consoles! What is your favorite console of all time?
PS1. I still remember getting it for the first time and that feeling of excitement… It opened my eyes to all the different gaming genres out there.Tell us about your gaming set-up.
I sorta have two. In my bedroom I tend to keep my PS3 and 360 on my 32 inch TV, and in the living room is my XBox One and PS4 as the TV is much bigger (55 inches) and better. What feature do you use the most on the site?
Keeping track of my trophy percentage. I’ve also recently started doing blogs, which I basically use as trophies to achieve that month. Is there anything you would change on the site if given the opportunity?
We just need more people using it as the trophy guides seem a little empty, so I quite often have to look elsewhere.***LIGHTNING ROUND!***

Do you have any shout-outs you would like to make?
My Boyfriend who introduced me to this site rdenton85 converted me back to the Playstation after years of being an Xbox gamerMany of us have seen the light. Finally, if you had a chance to say anything to the all your fellow gamers out there, what would it be?
Never become too old to game. When I’m in my sixties, I want to see fellow gaming pensioners, too.Don't worry, you won't be alone there!
Thanks to RockLadette85 for sharing her time with us — I think we're all better for it. Thanks for joining us again, and I hope that you'll all join us well into our 60's as we rock out this awesome hobby for many years to come! See you soon!
