July 2019 Round UpPermalink
Oh wow! August is halfway over and I’m just now getting to this. I know, I’m terrible at keeping the masses in the know with everything that is going on with me. I promise I’ll do better next month. Anyways....

This month I knocked out 22 trophies in 8 different games. Why so many games you ask? I took part in the 2019 Annual Bean Dive. I dropped 5 games:

Dynasty Warriors 9
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
God of War
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Monster Hunter: World

This dropped me down to 25% completion percentage. So what did I do here. I set myself a goal of 40% by the end of the year. Once I complete that I will move on to the next goal of 50% and gradually take myself until I hit that 100%.

Entertainment wise was a good month. The family and I watched Spider-Man: Far From Home and The Lion King at the theater. The wifey and I also binged watched all 3 seasons of Stranger Things. I love the 80’s nostalgia!

As far as gaming I made some decent progress on Borderlands 2. Have to get that campaign and DLC finished before BL3 drops next month. I also made a bit of progress with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, I would like to have this campaign complete before BL3 but I know it won’t happen so I’m not even going to attempt it.

Lastly I was able to finish the campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I absolutely loved jumping back into this. So much in fact that I do plan on going through it again on Hardcore mode.

On a side note I picked up Until Dawn and I’m trying my best not start it up. I hate that the majority of the games I have played over the last 2 months have been games that I have played on other systems but hey! I’m enjoying myself and that’s all that matters.

With August coming up I decided to give the GTTSC a shot and teamed up with Slayer1189 for the team portion. Neither of us plan on changing our gaming styles so wish us the best of luck.

My gaming plan is too finish up Borderlands 2 campaign by the end of the month and just focus on cleaning up some other trophies throughout the month.

Let me know what everyone else is doing this month. Gaming, movies, TV, hobbies doesn’t matter. Just sound off below and feel free to follow me on here or Twitter @JAdamGilman. Happy gaming!

Slayer1189 Good read and yeah nearly half way through the month before it dropped laugh

One month it somehow ended up the 24th and I still hadn't done my blog, so I just ended up waiting an extra week and rolling two months into one redface

Some big AAA titles in those beandived games. As I said before I wasn't a fan of DW9 despite enjoying the series as a whole. Uncharted I also really didn't enjoy and gave it 3/10. I do think that Uncharted 2 improved on the first in every way imaginable and is just a better game overall. Hope you enjoy the series!

Heard a lot of good things about Stranger Things but haven't seen anything from it. I'm not much a TV guy but the game is supposedly decent so I might get round to that one day.

On the GTTSC, looking like in amazing turn of events we might get into week 4 as next week is a gaming week with my friends so I will be on my PS4 a lot. Week 4 we go out though as everyone left will go hardcore for the week 5 badge while we potter along at our own pace laugh

For the 13th being a hectic day with 3 games I wanted to play on the same day I ended up not playing any of them. That will change tonight though!

Slayer1189 Also, random tangent. Just noticed you had a TA profile linked and added you on there. I am "Astute Vagabond".

Noticed you completed both Left 4 Dead games and gave them both 5 stars. You ever played Vermintide 1 or 2?

They have really similar gameplay except Vermintide is more melee focused and it is in a Warhammer End Times setting.

I actually much prefer Vermintide to L4D. It took the formula and added to it IMO, plus I feel the melee combat and limited ranged weapons is a better fit for the gameplay. I know others who really like Vermintide but still think L4D is better so it really just seems down to personal taste.

the original Vermintide I 100% completed up until the Arrogance Lost update (when they added a bunch of non retroactive stuff!) and loved all 200 hours of it! The Summoners Peak level on Cataclysm difficulty is one of the hardest co-op challenges I have done but we still had a lot of fun doing it smile

Vermintide 2 is also fantastic and looking forward to diving into the first major expansion this week as that is one of the 3 things I was waiting on.
