PS5 and Playing more on Playstation
So this year I have decided that I will be getting a PS5. The model is going to be a disc based one for two reasons. One is since I am in Nebraska with barley okay internet (60MB) I can not download things very fast. The second reason is I am a very old school person in that I really like disc based ownership. I do it with movies and TV shows as well. I just enjoy the feeling of a box and like looking at the artwork of cases.
I do own quite a few games digitally and almost all my music is digital. I just like the feeling of knowing that a disc can theoretically last forever. If my internet is out I can still play a game offline, watch a movie, ect.
Although I know the price will be more for the disc based version the fact that it is backwards compatible is a nice feature. I still own and don't plan on getting rid of my PS4 or PS3. It will make some games like The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima run and look a little better.
I am not getting the new Xbox this year as my Xbox One X is only a few years old and I simply do not play games as much as I use to. I can not justify both consoles to myself at this time. Since I will only be getting the PS5 many 3rd party games that I would normally get on Xbox I will be buying on PS5 to take advantage of better graphics and quicker load times.
I think I play less as I have gotten older. I am now 31 with a full time job, a Wife, and I find myself wanting to watch a show or movie more than play a game. However, I am going to also do some things I have put off for years such as travel and going to a few comic cons.
So with this I am sure that my gamer score on Xbox will not increase as much as it did, and my Trophy count will finally get a little higher and look more evened out.
