A Bit About Getting the “Beam Me Up” Trophy in Borderlands Presequel
I will first say that I've become addicted to Borderlands after having said to many of my friends that I wouldn't touch the game again after playing in High School.
HOWEVER, it was free on PSN and I took advantage of it.
But I'm not here to review the games. I'm actually here to give a little advice for those attempting the Presequel.
My recommendation: play the game on single player completely the first time.
So my story goes like this: I decided to start joining multiplayer games halfway through the game. Intelligence's of the Artificial Persuasion, in fact, and I joined with three other players who were a little stronger than I was, a few levels higher. My thoughts were to gain a few levels quicker, which is exactly what I did. I plowed through the remainder of the game this way, and it was so much easier with a group (other than the couple that kicked me out during boss fights). I was a happy camper. Now, I could tackle the trophy list...
...and this is where I will reiterate. Play the game on single-player first. Just do so if you can. I went to discovering the locations in the game, finding places I didn't realize I had missed. These were often discovered because of side quests that led you there. But I came to a wall. I had discovered everything.
My maps were meticulously charted out. What was wrong? Was it a glitch? There are very few sites and forums that elaborated on the issue I was having, saying there were a few places that were well-hidden (that I had already found) and that there were glitches.
Great. That meant that I would have to start the game again? I mean, I have three other characters I need to use in order to get some trophies...
Okay. This is where I will tell you what went wrong. I joined a multiplayer game during Eye to Eye and learned that I may have missed a discoverable area that I now I can't get back to. I powered through, though, on True Vault Hunter mode, and made it to that mission, to learn that I had in fact...
MISSED AN AREA.
Just after the fight with Zarpedon, I had missed that area due to a multiplayer mishap. I died and was respawned to the last part of the area, missing the discoverable area altogether.
I want to let everyone know that you need to play single player so you can discover the locations and not miss any on Eye to Eye. There were no glitches, and I hope there won't be any on other systems. Just make sure you do that mission completely.
