E3 reflection and what I've been up to
So here we are again, at every gamers favourite time of the year, E3. Personally, for me, I think it's been another great year for Sony. The conference was non-stop trailers and to my surprise didn't focus primarily on VR. I appreciated this a lot as going into E3 I was scared that Virtual Reality would be the next big step going forward for Sony, but I'm happy to see that they're treating it as more of an expansion to the games and experiences that are already available on Playstation. I would love to hear about what your favourite parts were of the main conferences and what announcements you are most looking forward to. For me, this has got to be up there:
I've been waiting for a new Spiderman game for so long and to hear that it's going to be a PS4 exclusive is even better. After playing the latest Ratchet and Clank reboot, I have no fear that Insomniac will make this game one to remember, especially after hearing that it's a completely unique story not tied to any other sources.
Another unexpected highlight for me came yesterday when I was writing an article for a game that beforehand I hadn't heard about. http://www.truetrophies.com/ABZU/trophies.htm
. When watching the trailer, I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the game, and knowing that it's coming from Giant Squid, the developers of Journey
for those of you who don't know, fills me with excitement for what the game could entail. You can check out the trailer and my article here
. I promise that's the only shameless self plug in this blog.
Anyway, onto what I've been up to in the world of gaming. I finally went back to grab the last few trophies in MONOPOLY Plus
giving me another completion. The trophies in this game are ridiculously easy and it's a great party game to boot, so if you're into that kind of stuff, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a go. Speaking of party games, I started and completed Sportsfriends
. It's not too great a game but again, if you have a couple of controllers handy, it's a very easy completion. I picked it up for free a while ago on the Instant Game Collection, so unless you got it from there, I probably wouldn't waste money on buying this one.
I also finally picked up this shiny new platinum:
It took me a few months of on and off playing, but I eventually got around to completing Far Cry Primal
and I had a lot of fun with it. I am a bit tired of the Far Cry formula though so I'm not interested in picking up any other games like this for a while.
That's pretty much it for this time guys, so until next time, happy hunting!
