3. Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Trophy WalkthroughUpdate notes

Tutorial Mode

When you begin this game, the first thing you want to do is go to the Tutorial mode. Make sure to pay attention and actually practice what it teaches you here, because you'll need all of this knowledge for the later challenge mode. After you knock out one tutorial session, you'll unlock your first trophy:

Play any training session in Tutorial Mode

Following that, I highly recommend you continue training, practice guarding and offensive/defensive moves, as well as learning the different characters so you can roll with one you feel comfortable with.

Online Battle (multiplayer)

I'd then recommend you get some real fight-time in, so head over to the multiplayer Online Battle mode and get a greater understanding of the mechanics of the game. As of September 2014, there were still active players in Ranked matches, so you should attempt this alone at first. If you aren't connecting to anyone, feel free to set up a boosting session and try connecting to your boosting partner that way. Note: you cannot invite another player into a ranked match, so if there are people still playing the Ranked mode, they'll make it difficult to boost. Remember though, you don't even need to win the matches.

After you finish your first ranked match, you'll unlock:

Up and Coming

Play one ranked match

And after you finish your 10th ranked match, you'll unlock:

Arcade Mode

With that out of the way, head over to Arcade mode and change the difficulty to Very Easy, the Rounds to 1, and the max CPU health to 200%.

At this point, which character you choose is up to you, but I personally only used Lau Chan and Pai Chan, as their combos are easy button-spamming and they make it pretty easy to dominate the AI.

When you win your first match, since the game's set to 1 round matches, you'll unlock:

You Win

Win a match in Arcade Mode without losing a round (any difficulty level)

If you won without taking any damage, great! Otherwise, make sure you try to win a match without taking any damage, which should be very easy with the 2 characters I listed above. Upon doing so, you unlock:

Excellent

Win a round without taking any damage in Arcade Mode (any difficulty level)

Also, try to knock your opponent out of the ring in a match with destroyable walls, or no walls, as well as low walls (which you can push an opponent over a low wall with a rising attack). If you can Ring-Out your opponent before depleting their health, you'll unlock:

Ring Out

Win a round by knocking your opponent out of the ring in Arcade Mode (any difficulty level)

If you're having trouble, just play another Arcade mode after finishing the first run-through and increase the CPU health to allow the AI to take more hits from you. Try using forward-facing attacks to push them towards the edge as well, like forward and kick.

When you win 7 matches, you'll finish the game and fight a bonus fight against Dural. You don't have to win against Dural, so don't sweat that match too hard. Just making it to Dural will unlock:

Face off against Dural in Arcade Mode (any difficulty level)

Score Attack Mode

Following the Arcade mode, go ahead and dig into Score Attack Mode. When you start your first Score Attack game you'll unlock:

Now using the same characters I listed above, or also Eileen, try to get a 5-hit combo on an opponent. You shouldn't have any trouble with these characters, and you can even rebound your opponent off the walls to help your combo as well. Once you nail your 5-hit combo, you'll unlock:

License Challenge Mode

Now you're at the last leg of this game's completion. In this mode, you'll be tested on your skills with what you've learned with the game so far.

License Challenge mode is set up in such a way, that each "test" consists of a few matches, usually an alternating sequence of "special requirement" matches, and "just win the match" matches. For example, you may be asked to "avoid getting hit by combos" or "avoid being grabbed" for the length of a match, but usually these challenges aren't too frustrating. Make sure you complete the objective of the match before winning the match, otherwise you will fail the challenge. If you use any of the characters I listed, you should be alright. Your biggest problem will be when you fight against Eileen. One of the challenge tests will have you fight against her twice within the set of matches (like the 2nd and 5th matches, for example) Be sure to play smart, and use everything you've learned, as well as gain an understanding of how she works and how her combos work, so you know how to Guard against them. Also be aware: if you lose any of the challenge matches without completing the set for the overall "test", you'll have to restart that test from the beginning (meaning, if the test consists of 6 matches, and you lose the 4th match, you'll have to redo that test again from the first match).

When you complete your first challenge test, you'll unlock:

Following that, you'll need to do another 4 to unlock:

And for the final trophy of the game, you'll need to complete another 5 more to unlock:

License Challenge mode was perhaps the most difficult for me, but still didn't take more than 2 hours overall to complete the game from start to finish.

Congratulations in advance on completing the game! toast
