7. Episode 5: The Vault of the Traveler
There will be a bunch of talking until you have to slowly roll your chair back, then use a buzz saw to cut off your restraints. Soon after, another friend will sacrifice themselves for you and you'll have to dodge some more until you take a serious fall. Now, you can choose to leave Yvette to die and never see her again, or free her and she'll come with you. I choose to just let her out. Soon after, the group will be separated and you will earn:
You will now be Fiona. Keep walking down the pathway until starts some more normal scenes. After some suspense, you'll meet up with good ol' blondie and switch back to Rhys. Dodge some bullets, then you'll be back to shooting a tiny bit of a firewall and deal with a different element afterward. Climb down the core and electrocute some rods until you need to choose whether or not to help Yvette (I helped her). Do some work with your bare (robot) hand. You will soon unlock:
Back to the girls in the hangar. You get to talk to the old 'friends' and get into a firefight. There will be some normal Telltale QTEs until your ride vanishes. Loader Bot will send you back to Pandora and Rhys will give it a call. Time for Rhys to find himself an escape pod. You can screw with Jack a bit, then spot a pod that is left. Dodge some bullets, and you can let Yvette will take it regardless of what you say (if she isn't with you, it'll be taken anyway). After some bro stuff, one of the saddest moments in any Telltale game will happen while some good music takes us into the intro.
Eventually, you will land and have to bust out of your escape pod. Just keep following the path for a long while. After that long while, you will have to attempt to climb over a car, then rip its door off. Then, just keep continuing forward for a tiny bit 'til Jack starts conversing with you. After a while, you end up no longer being a cyborg. You can choose to crush or keep your piece of you. I choose to crush it. Very soon after, you will unlock:
Fiona time. Get out of your escape pod and you'll receive a call. Now run towards the massive monster and do your QTEs. Head towards Vallory, then open the caravan. Not long after, you will be grabbed by Mr. To Kill a Mockingbird. You can choose to kill him or let him rot. I just shot him (with fire, but it shouldn't matter). Time for some conversation with Vallory. No matter what you do, it does not end well for her. You'll have to man the big-ass rocket launcher. It won't work out at first, but your sister will soon be there to help. A bit later and you will unlock:
You'll be back in the future with the Mysterious Stranger, then Rhys will reveal that he owns the rights to Atlas now. After some crazy shit, you'll have one less enemy and meet a bunch of new/old friends. There will be a bunch of awkward talking as you walk past all of your fans. You'll have to interrogate the Mysterious Stranger. You'll get to finally figure out who they are too! Hey, a good exoskeleton can't go to waste!
Now, it's time for a plan.
You get to choose from all of your friends from throughout the story to be a part of your squad. You have to choose 3. Your choices can be Jenny Springs, Zer0, Athena, Felix, August, buying vault hunters (a fun surprise), or Cassius.
I chose Athena, Jenny, and August (on my actual playthrough, I missed out on Zer0 because I did not know what to do until later).
After some quick cutscenes, you will have your squad.
You will hear the entire plan and have another opportunity to, or to not, compliment Sasha. Then, you will unlock:
Start by putting a circular peg into a circular hole to revive your big ol' robot friend. Time to fight. You'll talk for a bit, then see August somehow in a self-driving car. Continue on talking about all your problems. Then, it's time for a Gundam/Godzilla type of fight. And... oh my god... the finger guns come back into play. You'll fight for a bit, realizing that you wish that Rhys just had one of those modded shotguns from the first Borderlands. He'll end up teleporting into place and some slow-motion will happen as Fiona and Sasha fly into him.
After some "mercy" from it, you'll be back with the girls. And, oh boy, time for some guardians. Nah, just kidding, you'll just immediately switch back to Rhys and Gortys. You gotta pick up all of your teammates and it'll suddenly be Voltron/Power Rangers. Time for some actually kinda entertaining QTEs while you fight. Eventually, you will get slammed down on by the Traveler and switch back to Fiona with the guardians.
Start by choosing a plan of attack, I went run and gun. Choose your methods of fighting in that instinct sort of mode, then just continue on with the QTEs. After you are done, a bunch of cutscenes (and some talking) will happen. Then, it's big-ass sword time. You will soon after unlock:
Time for the aftermath. There will be a bunch of drama, some comedy, and a healthy dose of BS. Then, everyone will be back together again. After a big ol' hug with midget Obi-Wan, the lesbian space Australian, and the rest of the group, you will get a wedding invite. All of your friends go to get some loot, but Gortys will stay for some conversation. Your robotic friends will go off to talk and a race to the loot will begin. Now, the two playable characters can talk about Sasha and Rhys' relationship and you can go ahead with either shutting it down or making it happen (in a way). Enter the vault and talk for a long while on both ends of the conversation, then open the chest as both characters... Inside, you will find your final trophy and another completion. Congrats!
