4. Pure Pool Career ModeUpdate notes

Career Mode can be easy at times and other times it can be the most brutal thing you'll ever do. In career mode, you will have to play normal pool matches as well as some challenge matches. In every type of match you can earn up to three stars. I will list all matches and extras as read from the game.

Accolades

At the end of the match i'm sure you'll have noticed you get something called accolades. They include things as simple as playing games to longer ones such as hitting the ball off of the table a certain amount of times.

I have included a link to a document I wrote which shows every accolade, so you can print it off and mark down when you get each one.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15RYL4r1rVA41FtOf3kC_...

Once you have 10 of the same accolade, you will unlock this trophy. The reason I have put this trophy here is because you will more than likely get it after a few matches during your first tournament:

You will have to earn 100 stars throughout the 5 tournaments of pool. I recommend to go for this on your 9-ball amateur tournament as it's the easiest one. Matches can be replayed by just pressing the options button, moving down to career and choosing the match again to try and improve your star score. Once you have 100 stars you will unlock:

By the time I had 100 stars, I also got the trophy for unlocking 100 of the same accolade:

Master 9 ball is hard, but not anywhere near as hard as 8 ball. This time you have no aim lines at all; this is master, after all! VooFoo designed the game with difficulties to be adjusted to like real life. The only tip I can give is if you definitely see a shortcut (i.e. 2 into 9, 5 into 9, anything like that where you feel you can pot the plant shot), take it; especially in the later matches. With some practice, you'll eventually pick up the last 9-ball trophy:

Now for the tough one. Master 8 ball took me months of trying and cost me a controller. The reason for this is because the A.I. will miss maybe 10 shots throughout the entire master career. It is brutally difficult and drove me crazy! The only tips I can give you are:

  • Look at every possible shot before taking one.
  • If you feel like you're getting stressed because the A.I. seem to never miss, put your controller down and walk away for a bit. Clear your head and come back later.
  • If you find yourself in a situation where you are losing 2 frames in a 5 frame match, just restart. You will not pull it back, believe me! Best to save the time and try again.

I wish you a lot of luck, you'll need it!

Once you complete the last match you will earn your final career trophy and a well deserved break; well done!
