Overwatch: Origins Edition Walkthrough

3. Hero Specific Trophies & Tips

Here are the Overwatch heroes. For now, this walkthrough will just give basic information as well as strategies for each trophy. As I get more experience with each hero in the retail version of the game, I'll start expanding on them by providing detailed strategies for how to play each hero. For now, I'll give you some basic information to get you started and go over some strategies to get each hero's trophies.

While a few are written by me, many of the in-depth character strategies are courtesy of Unrehearsed and Moat Carp. If you find them useful, please be sure to send them a PM thanking them for their hard work. They've done an amazing job trying to capture these heroes in just a few paragraphs.

Boosting: It is possible to boost these, either with a single friend or in a whole session. It just takes time.

For a group of 12: What you want to do is have everyone add the session host as a friend. The host should invite a team of six and enter matchmaking. Once a match is found, the other six join the match through the friends list. They will be spectating. As enemy teammates leave, they will be replaced by boosters. With a little luck, you will get all six. Sometimes it will restart matchmaking and you'll need to start over. Plan on finding a match taking about an hour.

Once in a match, I recommend having one person on each team designated as killing for the match. The next person in line on each team plays Mercy and they can get her trophies. Everyone else on the team plays Tracer since she is mobile and has low HP. You can contest the game for a while, but eventually it will end. Make sure you don't contest more than a couple minutes simply to ensure that the game does not disconnect people (it will do this). You also need to be sure to warn people not to go AFK - you get kicked from the game if someone is AFK for about 45 seconds.

For a group of 2: Simply have one person get in a game and then have the other person join them through the Overwatch friends list. You will get put on the other team about 50% of the time, allowing the two of you to boost.

Genji

External image

Difficulty: High

Stories: Animated Short - Dragons

Weapons and Abilities: Genji's primary weapons are shurikens. The alternate fire flings three shurikens in a wider spread.

cn_L1 - Deflect - This ability allows Genji to reflect projectiles back at the enemy. It works on almost anything, and can be an extremely potent tool once you learn how to properly use it.

cn_R1 - Swift Strike - Genji lunges forward with his sword. If he gets a kill with this ability, the cooldown resets.

cn_T - Dragonblade - Genji wields his katana for a short duration. His attacks do extremely high damage in melee range.

Strategy: Genji can deal good damage and is highly mobile. However, his shuriken can be tough to aim and you need to get used to traveling across the map with his climbing and double jumping. He is a flanker to the bone - getting behind enemy lines and taking out easy targets is his main job. Next to that it’s always useful to poke at enemies with some shuriken and to focus on finishing off weakened enemies. It’s important to learn to rely on his movement and always position yourself for ambush or surprise attacks while still keeping an escape plan handy.

Despite his sword, you’re better off fighting at mid-range. Make good use of the standard attack, but if enemies close in or are huge, whenever you’ve the chance to hit with two or more of the alternative fire, use it, as it fires faster than the standard fire. You can also learn to use normal melee hits in between attacks at close range and cancel out of them with swift strike to go for the kill. Try to always kill with swift strike as it will reset the cooldown giving you another use to escape or close in for another target.

Swift Strike is your best ability. It’s a melee dash in the direction you look. Not only is it useful for damage, but it can be used to escape and travel. You can use it in the air to jump high or use it to cover distance across ledges or over holes. It can also be used to get behind Reinhardt's shield.

Deflect is extremely powerful if used properly. Use it when you're under fire and keep your aim on the enemy to reflect the bullets on him and use them against him. You can deflect almost any projectile but not melee attacks - they will just be blocked - an never beam attacks. You must learn when to use this ability - think about what attacks you struggle against and save this for them. It is possible to deflect Mccree’s Fashbang, Hanzo’s Scatter Arrow, Sonic Arrow and even the initial arrow that starts his Dragonstrike, turning his ultimate against him. This also works on other ultimates like Zarya’s Graviton Surge, Bastion’s Tank Mode rounds, and Tracer’s Pulse Bomb. Even if you don’t get a kill out of every use don’t shy away from using it as raw defensive ability if you need it.

Dragonblade is an offensive ultimate. Genji doesn’t gain any additional survivability while changing from his main weapon to his katana. Two strikes of it are enough to kill most non-tank enemies. But plan ahead before using it and always activate it close to the enemy to not waste any time of it running up to the enemy. Feel free to use Swift Strike to move into position. You can still use your other abilities while the katana is out. This ultimate is situational - you want to get behind the enemies and attack with surprise. It is also good for making yourself a threat to the enemy team, allowing your teammates to take advantage of the distraction.

Strong against:

  • Bastion: He hates Genji. Use Deflect in front of him and if he doesn’t stop shooting, he’ll rip himself apart. Your mobility allows you to also easily get behind him as well.
  • Widowmaker: You’ll easily able to reach her sniping postions and are able to get in and kill her from an unknown angle. Also Deflecting a charged shot back at her will almost always ensure a kill.
  • Mccree: The cowboy is famous for his Flashbang combo but Deflect does not only stop the bullets - it also stops the Flashbang. You will need to practice the timing on the Deflect as it can be tricky.
  • Mercy: With your ability to traverse the map so easily, it is simple to pick her off from the sides.
  • Additonally Genji is pretty good against all characters using bullet-based weapons, but it comes down to your individual skill using Deflect at the right moment. That is nothing I can give a general rule for, it’s really something you’ must learn while playing.

Weak against:

  • Pharah: She is very hard to hit with shuriken and you won’t be able to get close enough for Swift Strike.
  • Symmetra: Her beam does good damage and can’t be deflected. The same is true for her turrets - running into her turrets can be deadly as it can be tricky to hit the small things with shurikens.
  • Mei: You can’t deflect her freeze and this means she can immobilize you.
  • Tracer: Her movement abilities make it hard to hit her with shuriken and she can also easily dodge Swift Strike.
  • D.Va: She can avoid most of your attacks by boosting away until you've used all your cooldowns, then she can attack while you're defenseless.
  • Lúcio: He is mostly too fast to hit with shurkens and he can kick you away after you dashed in, turning your ability to waste. His gun can be deflected but the rounds travel so slow that you won’t hit him back with them.
  • Winston: In direct combat he'll kill you faster than you could kill him. He can also chase after you and you can’t deflect his tesla cannon. Stay away.

Trophies:

Slice and Dice - You must kill four enemies with a single use of Dragonblade. The best gametypes for this are Assault (Offense), Escort (Defense), and Control. Play normally to generate your ultimate and then save it. You want to find the right opportunity where there are 4-5 enemies all together. As soon as you see this, leap in, activate your ultimate, and start swinging. If you can get four kills, you'll net your trophy.

Their Own Worst Enemy - You must kill two enemies with a single use of Genji's cn_L1, Deflect. This can be tricky. Your best bet is to wait until you're under fire by multiple enemies who are somewhat low. Activate deflection and you might do just enough to kill both. Alternatively, you can also try deflecting explosives, such as Pharah's rockets. The AOE can net you the double kill that you're looking for.

McCree

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: Comic - Train Hopper

Weapons and Abilities: McCree's primary weapon is his trusty six-shooter, Peacekeeper. The alternate fire allows him to quickly fire all six rounds.

cn_L1 - Combat Roll - Allows McCree to roll forward, instantly reloading his weapon.

cn_R1 - Flashbang - McCree throws a flashbang that explodes shortly thereafter, disorienting enemies and interrupting them.

cn_T - Deadeye - McCree takes a second to aim and lock on to targets in his sight (the weaker they are, the faster they lock on). When the timer runs out, he instantly kills any of the targets in eyesight.

Strategy: McCree lacks a substantial mobility ability and is a somewhat big hero which makes him a pretty easy target when aimlessly wandering alone. Staying close to the tank is one option, picking off enemies one by one. McCree is also a good character against other flankers because he’s pretty strong against most of them. It’s best to fight enemies one on one. While he can deal some good damage with his gun on medium range or even from the back row, his strength is going close in and hitting the enemy as hard as he can with his infamous combo. Flashbang followed by Fan Fire (his alternate fire) will certainly kill most heroes except for tanks, when all bullets hit, you can follow up with a Combat Roll for instant reload followed by another Fan Fire, this puts every enemy in the game down tanks. But keep in mind, after using this you’re mostly defenseless against other enemies closing in.

Peacekeeper is a strong revolver. His bullets are very powerful at close range, especially when nailing headshots. The damage will, however, decrease the further the target is away. The secondary fire is Fan Fire. McCree instantly empties his revolver into an enemy. This has a very low accuracy and must be used close up at the enemy to be effective but if all bullets hit, it’s the one of the highest single target damage abilities.

Flashbang is good to use against everyone, but it’s especially effective against high mobility characters to mitigate that weakness of McCree. It can also be tossed above Reinhardt’s shield or in the air to send Pharah falling down. It has great utility but it’s main purpose is to go for a kill.

Deadeye will not just let McCree proclaim that "It’s high noon." It can wipe the whole enemy team when used cleverly after another of your teammates used an ultimate to great effect. It’s generally good to pick off weakened enemies. Be aware that McCree will yell "It's high noon" quite loudly, alerting every enemy that they are in imminent danger - you can use this to your advantage. It can be used to force the enemies out of the objective or generally force them away to break formation or to force them to reposition after it ended. You can also cancel it after activation to trick enemies into scattering and it will only use 50% of your ultimate charge!

Strong Against:

  • Tracer: A Flashbang will leave her defenseless with no possibility to fight back. She's an easy kill while disoriented due to her low health.
  • Reaper: He can’t use Wraith Form after being stunned, leaving him open to your Fan Fire.
  • Reinhardt: Flashbang can cancel his shield and Fan Fire deals a lot of damage to him even at larger ranges due to his size. This combo will kill him.
  • Winston: Due to the nature of his combat style he wants to get close to the enemy, which leaves him open for a Flashbang combo.

Weak Against:

  • Bastion: You don’t have the mobility to easily come up behind him - you’re a slow target for him to pick off.
  • Genji: He can Deflect all your abilities. Deflect will send your high damage back to you.
  • Widowmaker/Hanzo: Your slow movement speed and non-existent mobility makes you a prime target for all snipers.
  • Torbjörn: You most likely won’t have a chance to fight him at a range where you deal enough damage to take him and the turret down.
  • Zarya: Her shield is short lived but if you hammer your Fan Fire into it she’ll gain a really high damage boost. The shield can also protect herself and her teammates from your Flashbang.

Trophies:

Whoa There - You must interrupt an enemy ultimate using Flashbang. Enemy ultimates are often highly choreographed (Genji is surrounded by a green dragon, McCree yells "It's high noon", etc.), so keep an eye out for these telltale signs of an ultimate. Each character has such a warning, though no all ultimates can be interrupted. You need to be on the lookout for enemy ultimates that take time to trigger, such as McCree's himself. As soon as you see an enemy using one, toss the Flashbang to interrupt it and net your trophy.

It's High Noon - Yee haw. You need to get four killing blows with a single use of of Deadeye, your ultimate. This is best done when attacking a point. Defenders tend to be grouped together and slightly more vulnerable. The enemies need to be low enough in health that you can quickly lock on to each one. This is also possible on defense in Escort if the attackers are grouped on top of the payload. In that case, I'd recommend getting behind them so that when the enemies take cover (remember, they'll hear McCree yell "It's high noon"), they actually move right into your line of sight since they expect you to be ahead of them.

Pharah

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: Comic - Mission Statement

Weapons and Abilities: Pharah's primary weapon is a rocket launcher. Her secondary attack allows her to hover in the air for a short duration.

cn_L1 - Jump Jet - This allows Pharah to soar into the air, giving her a good vantage point to take enemies down from above.

cn_R1 - Concussive Blast - Pharah fires a wrist rocket that offers a very strong knockback.

cn_T - Barrage - Pharah hovers in place and launches a continous salvo of rockets for a couple seconds, dealing high damage.

Strategy: Pharah excels at verticle combat. She will constantly be in the air, raining down rockets on the enemies. Pharah’s main damage source is her Rocket Launcher. The weapon deals very good splash damage and is highly reliable, but the rockets have travel time. They’re best used against stacked up enemies as it helps immensely to damage the whole team at once. As the explosion deals damage too, you don’t have to rely solely on direct hits as the splash damage from indirect explosion hits is also pretty good.

Jump Jets allow Pharah to easily get in a favorable position above the enemies. When in the air you can hover some time by pressing [cn_A] or cn_L2, emptying your fuel bar in the process. The fuel regenerates quickly within two seconds but try to not just use it all up at once - press the button once to slow your fall and then press it again and again instead of holding it. This gives you more possibilities to move while being in the air and also gives you time to stay in the air until the cooldown of Jump Jets runs out. The downside of this movement is that you’ll sometimes just stand in the air, making you an easy target for snipers. I can’t recommend playing Pharah when there’re many snipers or long range characters on the enemy team. You can also use Jump Jets to move very easily across the upper levels of a map.

Concussive Blast is Pharah's utility. Its effect is a blast that knocks enemy characters and/or Pharah herself back. It can be generally spammed into the enemy team to push them away from each other and break the formation. Knocking players around can also add some confusion. It can also, like every knockback effect, be used to push enemies into a hole or to catapult yourself out of the hot zone. As it has no effect on your team members, feel free to experiment with it around ledges and map edges to find good spots to throw enemies down.

Barrage has the highest damage potential of all ultimate’s in the game and covers a wide space. While firing Pharah is completely bound to her position and can’t move, which makes her vulnerable, especially to long range characters. Try to use it when you’ve a clear view on the enemy team and deal with long range threats before activating it. Bundled up with a stunning ultimate from a teammate is especially effective because everyone caught in the stun and then in the barrage will certainly die.

Strong Against:

  • Junkrat: He can’t really hit you in the air and his Steel Traps and Concussion Mines are also no danger for you. His slow movement makes him a prime target for your rockets.
  • Mei: She has nothing to hit you while in the air and you can even fly above her Icewalls. She is also slow.
  • Bastion: In Sentry Mode he doesn’t move which makes him a sitting duck for you.
  • Reaper: His shotguns simply don’t have the range deal damage to you, but your rockets can take him out while he moves normally.
  • Genji: His weapon is not very good at hitting you and your splash damage can hit him even when he moves. While he can Deflect your rockets, they travel so slow, this is not a real threat to you.
  • Lúcio: Splash damage is always the best bet against fast moving characters.
  • Winston: He simply doesn’t have the range to hit you with anything significant and his large body makes him a good target.
  • Reinhardt: You can easily outmaneuver his shield and he doesn’t really have the attacks to get you out of the sky.
  • Symmetra: You basically never have to ever worry about her or her turrets as they don’t have the range to hit you and her energy balls travel way to slow. Also she doesn’t have much mobility.
  • Zarya: While she can absorb some of your damage with her shields, her beam weapon doesn’t have the range to hit you and her secondary fire mode lacks the consistency to become a real threat to you while airborne.

Weak Against:

  • D.Va: Her boost gives her the opportunity to reach in the air. Her weapons deal a lot of damage close up to you and your rockets will hurt yourself. Defense Matrix will simply negate your damage output, even from your ultimate.
  • Roadhog: He’s able to hook you out of the air and his weapon is very effective at close range, that means you’re mostly dead if you don’t have any help or other escape mechanism.
  • Soldier 76: His weapon is effective at long range allowing him to kill you out of the air. His Helix Rocket has also a good chance to hit when you hover.
  • Widowmaker: You make an easy target for her while hovering. This could also be said about Hanzo but he is not as consistent as Widowmaker in hitting you in the air. But as stated before snipers are the most dangerous threat to you.

Trophies:

Death From Above - You must kill four enemies in a row without touching the ground. By far the easiest way to do this is to use Pharah's ult when many enemies are defending or capturing an objective. The enemies will be relatively grouped up so it will be easier. Keep in mind that you don't have to get all four kills with the ultimate - you can always fire off rockets when you're done to clean up the remaining kills.

Clearing the Area - You need to knock an enemy to their death using ecn_R1. That sounds easy enough until you remember this game doesn't have fall damage. Suddenly, things get more complicated. Many of the maps, but not all of them, have edges where you can fall out of the arena to your death. You'll need to be on the lookout for enemies near those points. Sometimes there'll be a fight there which you can take advantage of. Sometimes enemy Defense heroes will be camped up near the ledge. Look for those enemies and capitalize on their mistake. Pharah's knockback is luckily very strong, so they don't need to be right on the edge for you to find success.

Reaper

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: Animated Short - Recall, Animated Short - Infiltration

Weapons and Abilities: Reaper's primary weapons are dual shotguns.

cn_L1 - Wraith Form - Reaper becomes a wraith, rendering him unable to attack but immune to damage and able to pass through other heroes.

cn_R1 - Shadow Step - This is a very long range teleport that can be used to get into position.

cn_T - Death Blossom - Reaper spins in a circle, dealing extremely high damage to all nearby enemies.

Strategy: Reaper is deadly at close range and has his fair share of survivability and mobility.

Hellfire Shotguns are Reaper’s main weapons. At short range they’re the deadliest weapons in the game but they’ve relatively small magazines plus an enormous spread at higher ranges. The guns have the highest effect against large targets so tanks are your highest priority because, while you can effectively kill anyone, tanks are very easy to hit and your high damage shreds their armor rapidly. You can even hammer your guns from longer ranges against big targets like the tanks or even the shields some of them can put up (but don’t shoot at a shielded Zarya).

Shadow Step allows Reaper to teleport across large gaps and in any direction, but you should only use it carefully when no enemies are around or when you can land it somewhere safely. The animation of it takes some time and there is a short delay when you reach your destination. The red smoke is also very visible to enemies, so they will know where you're going to appear. It has some movement utility but it can’t be used to teleport in or out of combat, because you’ll be slaughtered while trying to use it under fire.

Wraithform allows Reaper to move in and out of combat more effectively. While active he moves faster and is immune to all damage and crowd control. I’ve seen a lot of people using it just as a mean to run faster to the objective or generally using it as a sprint replacement - don’t do that. Wraithform is your emergency button to flee a fight you can’t win or to dodge an ultimate. If saves you from every ultimate and every attack and gives you mostly enough time to leave the battle. You can also pick up health packs while it’s active. Its other purpose is for flanking, you can use it easily to close in on an enemy and take him out from behind once it wears off. Especially when you try to flank a healer or a Sentry Mode Bastion, it negates all incoming damage on the way to your target.

The Reaping helps Reaper to survive. Every fallen enemy will leave an orb behind that heals you for 50 HP. This and the fact that Reaper has 250 HP gives him great survivability as long as he fights on. Don’t forget to collect the orbs if you need them - they’ll stay in place for some time but are useless to your teammates.

Death Blossom. It’s pretty straight forward - Reaper shoots in every direction and does high damage around him. This ultimate can be used to clear an objective but it has the best effect when used against a grouped up team at close range and without them recognizing before it’s too late. The best way to use it is to jump from above the enemy team. It’s a close range ultimate and its effect wears off the further the targets away, therefore it can be used to great effect in closed rooms. Beware: the ultimate can be cancelled by stuns and defensive abilities can protect the enemy team.

Strong Against:

  • Bastion: Use Shadow Step or Wraithform to get behind him and shoot his core with your shotguns.
  • Tanks in general: Big targets are good fodder for your shotguns at close range and can also be damaged from further away.
  • Junkrat: He is very good at locking down gates and chokepoints, but that makes him an easy target to fall in his back.
  • Symmetra: She is not that much of a danger to you as you can dodge all of her attacks and she doesn’t have the means to flee very well.

Weak Against:

  • Lúcio: He can cancel your ultimate with his Soundwave and is also very good at keeping a distance to you.
  • McCree: When he uses a Flashbang before you can use Wraithform you’ll lose against him.
  • Pharah: You can’t reach her with substantial damage and she can easily hunt you down from above when you flee in Wraithform.
  • Tracer: She’ll mostly be too fast for you to catch her with your shotguns and her damage up close can also be deadly. But you can wear off her Pulse Bomb with Wraithform.
  • Mei: She's the only hero that can go toe to toe effectively against Reaper. Even at close range, unless you have pinpoint accuracy she will freeze you, headshot you with an icicle, and then finish you off before you can kill her. She also has a longer range and her slow prevents you from closing the gap. Do note though - if the Mei is not skilled, you'll beat her 9 times out of 10.

Trophies:

Die Die Die... Die - You must kill four enemies with a single use of Death Blossom. Like many of the quadrakill trophies, you simply need to engage the enemies with your ultimate when they are all grouped together. Usually this is when they are defending an objective or when they, as attackers, are pushing a payload. Reaper's ultimate does do very high damage, so kills will come quick if there are enough enemies nearby. You can make use of Shadow Step and Wraith Form to get close enough without dying.

A solo kill is when you do all of the damage to the enemy hero (when you eliminate them, it will have a "100" next to the flame). To deal this much damage, you'll need to be very close and very accurate. Keep an eye out for very squishy enemies (Offense and Support heroes mainly, as well as Widowmaker and Hanzo). Remember that you don't need a triple kill - you can get all three kills on the same hero, you just need to have patience and spend your ammo wisely.

Soldier: 76

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: Animated Short - Hero

Weapons and Abilities: Soldier: 76's primary weapon is a heavy pulse rifle (an assault rifle). His alternate fire launches three small rockets at a target.

cn_L1 - Sprint - This allows 76 to move very quickly, just like Call of Duty! If you take another action, the Sprint ends.

cn_R1 - Biotic Field - 76 will place an emitter on the ground which heals him and any nearby allies.

cn_T - Tactical Visor - Essentially, this gives 76 pinpoint accuracy through very high auto-aim. If an enemy is in line of sight, 76 will automatically aim at them and all you need to do is pull the trigger.

Strategy: Soldier: 76 is the most straight-forward character the game has to offer. He is easy to pick up for anyone coming just with the slightest FPS experience. He is mainly offensive but he combines good mobility, solid damage output on nearly all ranges and even some team support in one character which makes him a viable pick for almost any team composition.

Heavy Pulse Rifle is his main weapon - a fully automatic assault rifle with hitscan. It’s easy to use, hits connect directly and the damage fall-off is not as heavy as with some other weapons, making it useful even at longer distances. If you just push for full automatic fire the accuracy will certainly suffer but there’re two possibilities to work against it: firstly, you can just, and I prefer the method at long range, shoot just one bullet and wait a short moment to fire another one, as the first bullet is always perfectly accurate; the second possibility is to simple small burst but since this is not a burst weapon, you must time your own bursts.

Helix Rockets are his alternate fire. They have a travel time and cause a small explosion but deal heavy damage. These can be particularly vicious against tanks. It's recommended you save them until the enemy is as close as possible to ensure an accurate shot.

Sprint is pretty much self-explanatory. You sprint until you stop or press the button again and you can’t shoot while sprinting. Use it to travel fast across the battlefield or to escape combat or enemies. It’s also immensely helpful to return to battle after respawning. You can also jump a lot further when doing so while sprinting.

Bionic Field will heal you and teammates standing inside of it with line of sight contact to its center. You can use it to just heal yourself after combat or to give yourself an advantage in a direct confrontation. It’s also good to help wounded teammates out with it.

Tactical Visor is Soldier 76’s ultimate - it’s basically a aimbot. All shots fired during will connect with the target closest to your crosshair and your reload speed is increased during its duration. This is a great ultimate to keep pushing with your team as it gives deadly support fire and is useful for taking out weaker enemies. Try to not waste it on tanks, it’s much more potent to get more kills on weaker targets out of it. You can still use your other abilities but Helix Rocket won’t benefit from the aimbot. Keep in mind to concentrate on normal targets as your bullets won’t deal more damage and still can’t pass through shields.

Strong Against:

  • Pharah: She is not hard to hit with your gun and you’re even fast enough to outrun her Rockets.
  • Roadhog: He is a very big target for both your gun and your Helix Rocket.
  • Mercy: Your mobility makes it far easier to hunt her down. When you go the flanking route, always try to prioritize on her.
  • Zenyatta: His slow movement speed makes him a good target.
  • Tanks in general are a good target for Helix Rockets and also your gun but I wouldn’t say that Soldier 76 is a hard counter to them except for Roadhog, as this is more situational. I.e. Reinhardt from behind while he pushes the shield in the other direction. D.Va walks really slow while firing. Zarya is also not the fastest and Winston needs to close in to deal with you. But you’ll see some of those tanks below, as they’re sometimes really problematic for him to deal with.

Weak Against:

  • Bastion: You can’t always outrun or outheal his chaingun. When he has a straight line of sight he’ll kill you, even if you heal, so he can be problematic for you and should be taken out by others with better horizontal movement.
  • Reinhardt: 76 does very little against his shield and armor. 76 also lacks any good ability to flank behind or interrupt Reinhardt (sprint is consistent, but not fast enough).
  • Zarya: Hitting her with a Helix Rocket increases her damage due to her shield. Shooting her is also not that effective as she can regenerate her shield.

Ultimately, there is nothing that really hard counters Soldier 76 as he is very versatile. But on the other hand there’s no one he is extremely powerful against. He is the simple all-rounder of the Overwatch heroes. Always a good pick but rarely the best pick. He's a good pick if you're not sure how to counter the enemy.

Trophies:

Rocket Man - You must get two killing blows with a single use of your helix rockets (your alternate fire). This can be tricky as they don't have a very large area damage. While playing, keep an eye out for enemies grouped together. Try to get them low and then fire the rockets off. This is more likely to occur in major choke points, where enemies tend to congregate as they rush at you. Fire a rocket into the choke and you'll likely get a kill or two.

Tracer

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: Animated Short - Alive

Weapons and Abilities: Tracer's primary weapons are rapid fire pistols. They have an extremely small clip.

cn_L1 - Blink - Tracer skips forward in the direction she's moving. She has three charges that she can make use which recharge fairly quickly.

cn_R1 - Recall - Tracer moves back in time and reloads her weapon. This ability puts you at the exact place you were four seconds ago and restores your status exactly as it was (so you can effectively use this ability as a heal).

cn_T - Pulse Bomb - Tracer throws a pulse bomb, which is basically a sticky grenade. It does high AOE damage.

Strategy: Tracer is Overwatch’s iconic, british cover girl. Next to that she’s a very fast, hard hitting offensive character but it takes time to fully master her. I would put her right next to Genji in regards to the needed player skill. Her swiftness and her movement skills are really good if you know how to use them but it also takes a lot of practice to learn when to use what. She’s a good flanker, and her playstyle is more a less a hit and run variation. That means dipping into combat, putting some pressure on the enemy and leave while trying to not become an easy target. The fact that she has only 150 HP is a strong downside for a character that has to get close to the enemy to be effective.

Pulse Pistols are her only offensive weapon except for her ultimate. They empty all shots in a second. That means that you’ve to be good at aiming while moving to hit a lot of shots. The damage does add up if many shots connect but they are inaccurate and barely usable at any range but right up front. The positive is that they reload as fast as they go empty. To use them to their full potential, try to get as close to the enemy as possible with your Blink ability, use it in between and hit them with a clip or two before blinking back out. When you’re close enough you can make it a habit to hit with a melee bash after putting the first clip into the enemy. She's ineffective against anyone that has armor (due to the way armor works, she does only about 25% damage against armor).

Blink is Tracer’s signature ability that transports her forward or generally in the direction you push the stick while activating it. This is her main way of moving quickly into battle and leaving it again equally fast. You can use it also to leave the spawn area quickly. It's a fantastic distraction in direct combat to move around fast and make yourself a harder target or in a direct confrontation, blink through the enemy in front of you and as he turns around blink exactly back to where you stood before, then shoot him in the back. While blinking, you also pass through shields and won’t activate traps and mines or Reinhardt’s Charge. You always have up to 3 charges of Blink and each recharges in around 3 seconds.

Recall allows Tracer to rewind time, transporting her back to the physical location she had 3 seconds before and restoring her health to what she had in this moment. It also completely refills Tracer's ammo. Recall serves firstly a defensive purpose to leave combat, reposition and/or get your health back. It’s also great to avoid ultimate’s and it’ll make you drop Hanzo’s Sonic Arrow or Zenyatta’s Orb of Discord. To use it effectively try to not use it when you can’t get something out of it and also always remember the position you Recall to back, as you don’t want to Recall into a hot fight.

Pulse Bomb is a sticky bomb that deals 400 damage. While quite some characters can avoid it, most will instantly die if you stick them. It’s best used in combination with Blink and Recall: Blink to an enemy, stick the bomb and Recall out. Always try to stick it as you can’t throw it fast and this ensures you a kill and hopefully enemy teammates around your target to damage or kill.

Strong Against:

  • Bastion: Blinking makes you a harder target for him and you’ve the movement to get behind him really fast to take him out.
  • Mercy: You can close in on her really fast and she doesn’t have the capability to fight back at close range.
  • Hanzo/Widowmaker: You’ve the advantage of speed against both and that makes it firstly easy to avoid being hit and secondly easier to close in on them. You can Blink through Widowmaker’s mine and Recall will let you lose Hanzo’s Sonic Arrow.
  • Genji: He can’t hit you reliably and you can even easily dodge deflected bullets.
  • Zenyatta: He’s in a big disadvantage against you because of his slow movement. You can also lose his Orb of Discord with Recall.
  • Reinhardt: He is a big target and he can’t really fight back. You can Blink through his shield but keep in mind that while a Pulse Bomb won’t kill him, but it’s nonetheless effective to stick it to him as their will mostly be other enemies around the tank.
  • Torbjörn: He also moves slow and you can easily flank his turret or take both out with a Pulse Bomb. But watch out for Molten Core as this’ll gives him enough health to survive the Pulse Bomb.

Weak Against:

  • Mei: She can protect herself and can fight back at close range. Freezing and slowing you takes your biggest advantage away.
  • Junkrat: His Steel Trap will catch you if you don’t watch out. Your tempo can land you in an area locked down by his grenade spam.
  • McCree: A Flashbang combo will end you. The Flashbang is always one of the biggest dangers to you. Try to attack him from behind.
  • Winston: He deals good damage close up and he can counter your movement with his jump. His Tesla Cannon also doesn't require good aim to hit you.
  • Roadhog: His Chain Hook is equally deadly to you as McCree’s Flashbang. His weapon does even more reliable short range damage than yours.

Trophies:

Special Delivery - You need to stick four of Tracer's pulse bombs on enemies in one match. This trophy is somewhat difficult in two ways. First, you need to actually get your ultimate four times, which means you need to be dealing out a lot of damage while not dying. The game also needs to last long enough for you to get all four, which means you need to do exceptionally well but the rest of your teammates need to effectively be at a stalemate if you are attacking (for this reason, it's easier to get this on defense). Second, you need to actually land the stick. This is something that will simply take practice, potentially quite a lot of it.

Total Recall - You must heal 400 health points without dying using Recall. When in combat, watch your health. If you get even close to death, immediately recall to refill your health, then run away if you don't think you can get the kill quickly. Your goal here is to stay alive. Effective use of Blink will be a necessity. Be aware of where health packs are on the map so that you can stay alive. Tracer isn't a tank, so you'll need to be very careful to take damage at the right time and at the right amount.

Sombra

Difficulty: High

Stories: Animated Short - Infiltration

Weapons and Abilities: Sombra's primary focus is as a hacker and debilitator. Her primary weapon is a fully automatic SMG which is useful at short range.

cn_L2 - Hack - Sombra hacks enemies to temporarily stop them from using their abilities, or hacks first aid kits to make them useless to her opponents.

cn_L1 - Thermoptic Camo - Sombra becomes invisible for a short period of time, during which her speed is boosted considerably. Attacking, using offensive abilities, or taking damage disables her camouflage.

cn_R1 - Translocator - Sombra tosses out a translocator beacon. She can instantly return to the beacon’s location while it is active (including when it’s in mid-flight).

cn_T - Sombra discharges electromagnetic energy in a wide radius, destroying enemy barriers and shields and hacking all opponents caught in the blast.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Sombra's Trophies are DLC!

Hack the Planet - You must hack 15 enemies with cn_L2 and cn_T without dying. The easiest way to do this is to use your bread and butter combo. Drop a Translocator in a safe location, then use stealth to run behind the enemies. Target someone on the enemy's back line and hold cn_L2 to hack them. If there's a large group of enemies, you can use your cn_T instead. As soon as the hack goes off, hit cn_R1 to teleport to safety. Then simply rinse and repeat. The toughest part is definitely staying alive long enough to get to 15 and making sure the game lasts long enough. It's easier to do this on defense provided your allies are competent, but not so good they actually win. You want a long, drawn out game.

Power Outage - You must hit six enemies at once with your ultimate. Your ultimate is a large, single shot area of effect around you. This trophy is actually very easy so long as you can actually find a group of six enemies. You'll find the most success with this on the hybrid maps, especially London. As soon as the enemies capture the first area on attack, people tend to group together on the payload as it goes under the arch. With a bit of luck, all six will. So simply cloak with cn_L1 and run up and hit cn_T a few times (once to turn off stealth and once to actually use the ability).

Defense

Bastion

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Bastion's primary is Recon mode, which allows full mobility and equips him with a medium range SMG. The secondary is Sentry mode, which makes him stationary and gives him a chain gun effective at short and medium range.

cn_L1 - Reconfigure - This is the ability that allows Bastion to switch between Recon mode and Sentry mode.

cn_R1 - Self-Repair - Bastion heals himself, but is unable to take any other action while healing.

cn_T - Configuration: Tank - Bastion becomes a mobile tank with a long range cannot that fires explosive shells, dealing high damage.

Strategy: Bastion will always start in Configuration: Recon. He moves relatively slowly and uses a submachine gun with a small clip and medium damage at mid and low range. The submachine gun has a big damage fall-off and loses a lot of damage at higher ranges. The only use for Configuration: Recon is to move to positions for his other standard mode.

Configuration: Sentry: In this mode Bastion becomes immobile and uses a heavy chain gun that deals large amounts of damage and has an insane fire rate but a long reload time. Also it changes his headshot zone to his backside. Bastions main focus is defending in sentry mode. Dealing large amounts of damage with his chain gun while staying alive and defending fronts, chokepoints, objectives or just dishing out a constant stream of support fire. It’s important to get knowledge of the maps, to realize where the best spots are to go and switch to Sentry Mode. The best places are higher up, with a good view over the battlefield and with a wall in your back. Sentry Mode is used to get those places and to move on to others, as it can be fatal to stay at the same position for too long as enemies will learn your position rather quickly.

Bastion changes between those two modes with the ability Reconfigure, which also reloads his weapon. You can use this to avoid needing to reload your chaingun, so keep that in mind.

Self-Repair restores his health and he can’t fire while using it.

Jumping can be really helpful as Bastion, you can jump and change Configurations while doing so. Use this to drop down somewhere and change while falling. The same can be done with Self-Repair. If you run out of ammo in Sentry Mode and the enemy is attacking you switch to Recon Mode to defend yourself as it’s faster than reloading the chain gun. Otherwise try your best to find a good spot, heal yourself and enjoy mowing down the enemies. Make sure you reposition periodically so the enemies do not know where to find you.

Configuration: Tank is Bastion's ultimate. In this mode Bastion becomes a small tank and fires heavy damage explosive rounds. Bastion's ultimate is strong but is best used situationally and not during a solo attack. The blast radius is big so use it against groups of enemies that are clustered up. On the other hand, it is really useful if you’re under a direct attack while in sentry mode or to help your team out during an objective push.

Strong Against:

  • Tanks: The high damage rate of your minigun will shred tanks in a second. You can destroy Reinhardt's shield in just a few seconds. Tanks tend to be big targets, which means they always take quite a bit of damage from you and none are particularly well-equipped to kill you (though Reinhardt's charge can be a problem).
  • Anyone in a choke point

Weak Against:

  • Tracer: She is quick and mobile and she can get behind you unnoticed and deal lots of damage to your weak spot.
  • Reaper: He can quickly shadow step behind you if he goes unnoticed or wraith form through you, in both cases he will be behind you and killing you with his shotguns.
  • Genji: He is a hard counter to Bastion, if you shoot him while he deflects you’re dead. Simple as that. He can also get easily behind you with his double jump and wall climbing.
  • Hanzo/Widowmaker: Both can take you easily out while keeping their distance and not getting involved in fighting you upfront. Also a scatter arrow from Hanzo behind or right in front of you, will certainly take you out.
  • Pharah/Junkrat: Both deal splash damage with their weapons, that means they can both damage you with indirect fire from angles you can’t reach in Sentry Mode. The knockbacks of both will bring you out of Sentry Mode.

Trophies:

Triple Threat - You need to get two kills in each configuration without dying - Sentry, Recon, and Tank. You'll only want to attempt this when your ultimate is available. In general, I'd save your ultimate for the end since its damage is extremely high and you're fairly likely to get kills with it. I'd mainly attempt this during defense, since you know the enemies will be coming to you. This allows you to set up the two Sentry kills fairly easily. As soon as you get them, switch to Recon and play very carefully, waiting in ambush for the enemies. Finally, use your ultimate to get the two remaining kills by attacking the objective point that enemies are moving to.

Hanzo

External image

Difficulty: High

Stories: Animated Short - Dragons

Weapons and Abilities: Hanzo's primary weapon is his bow, which does extremely high damage if you can hit an enemy (and in many cases can kill outright).

cn_L1 - Sonic Arrow - Hanzo fires an arrow at a location. For a short time, any enemies near the arrow are revealed to both Hanzo and his allies.

cn_R1 - Scatter Arrow - Hanzo fires an arrow that splits into many fragments that can bounce off walls.

cn_T - Dragonstrike - Hanzo fires an arrow which summons a spirit dragon which moves forward, passing through walls and dealing high damage.

Strategy: Hanzo is a backline character. He has relatively quick movement speed compared to other characters and has the ability to climb walls, like his brother Genji. His primary weapon is a bow with an infinite quiver of arrows which he can draw from quickly. Like other snipers in the game, there is not a damage falloff with distance. His bowshots, however, are slightly different compared to other sniper heros; they arc. The shots arc based on how much tension is placed on the bowstring and the distance at which he is shooting. Critical hits (headshots) can one shot any character with the exception of tanks.

Sonic Arrow is good for illuminating where enemy players are or might be; this gives Hanzo and his teammates a strategic advantage in any situation as they able to see and predict enemy movements in the area.

Scatter Arrow allows him to shoot an arrow that will break into six multiple projectiles upon the impact of a surface or character. Each scatter will do 75 damage to an enemy if his, so if a character is hit by all six projectiles, then it will yield 450 damage to a single enemy character. This ability serves as a great defensive measure if there are enemies attacking you. Again, to use this ability effectively, you need to ricochet the arrow of a surface (such as the ground) and have the scatters hit an enemy. Unlike his other arrows, the Scatter Arrow will not yield a critical hit if an enemy is shot in the head.

Dragonstrike is a line ability where Hanzo shoots an arrow that explodes into two spiraling dragons that move continously through objects and the map. Hanzo tends to build his ultimate fairly quickly compared to other heroes in the game. The ability is good for clearing out the area of an objective as anyone who stands in the middle of it will probably die fairly quickly. If you're hit, by the abiltiy and are at full health, you can move out of the dragons and still be alive.

Strong Against:

  • Bastion - He tends to sit in one place, which makes it very easy to hit him.
  • Torbjorn - Like Bastion, he tends to sit right next to his turret (or near it), which makes him an easy target with no ranged attacks that can hit you (though his turret probably can).
  • Roadhog - Roadhog is a short range hero with a huge head you can easily hit. While he does have a fair bit of HP, your high damage can offset it and he won't be killing you before you kill him if you can land a headshot or two.

Weak Against:

  • Hanzo is weak against characters that can quickly invade his personal space. Characters like Winston, Pharah, Genji, Tracer, Reaper, etc., seem to be more troublesome than others.

Trophies:

Simple Geometry - You must get the killing blows on two enemies with a single use of Scatter Arrow. This is very difficult. The best thing to do is focus on finding choke points connected to small rooms. Most levels have at least one of these rooms. Camp out near this room and wait for enemies to enter. Then have a friend (preferably playing a tank) head in to distract the enemies. As soon as they're both inside, launch your arrow inside and hope for the double kill. You will need the killing blow, which makes it even more difficult. You can also attempt this inside a hallway or an alleyway.

The Dragon Is Sated - you must get four kills with one use of your ultimate. This is not easy, since that means four enemies need to either be in a straight line or very closely grouped. Like many of the quadrakill trophies, you simply need to engage the enemies with your ultimate when they are all grouped together. Usually this is when they are defending an objective or when they, as attackers, are pushing a payload. The benefit Hanzo's ultimate has is that it can be used through a wall. Find a map where the objective is in a room and shoot your ultimate through the wall. This way, enemies will at least not be able to see your ultimate coming. You could also try shooting through a wall directly at the payload if the attackers are all grouped on it.

Junkrat

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: Comic - Going Legit

Weapons and Abilities: Junkrat's primary weapon is the Frag Launcher, which fires grenades.

cn_L1 - Concussion Mine - Junkrat places a concussion mine. The mine is triggered remotely to deal damage and knock them back. They will also knock Junkrat up.

cn_R1 - Steel Trap - Junkrat places a steel trap. An enemy who steps on it is damaged and immobilized.

cn_T - Rip-Tire - Junkrat throws out a large tire that rolls in a straight line across the battlefield. The tire can climb over obstacles. Junkrat can trigger the tire to explode himself if he wishes. The explosion deals high area of effect damage.

Passive - When Junkrat dies, he drops three live frag grenades.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Mine Like a Steel Trap - You need to knock an enemy into a Steel Trap using a Concussion Mine. This one is fun. You want to find a room with a doorway you expect enemies to run through. Set a Steel Trap to one side an a Concussion Mine on the other. As soon as the enemy walks into the room, blow the Concussion Mine. It should knock the enemy into the Steel Trap and net you your trophy. This might take a bit of trial and error with where to place each one once you find a good location.

Mei

External image

Difficulty: High

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: The Endothermic Blaster is Mei's primary weapon. It shoots a stream of cold that slows and eventually freezes an enemy. The secondary fire shoots icicles at medium range.

cn_L1 - Cryo-Freeze - Mei encases herself in ice, healing herself and rendering her unable to move, act, or take damage.

cn_R1 - Ice Wall - Mei generates a giant ice wall.

cn_T - Blizzard - Mei deploys a drone that makes a large snowstorm in an area. Enemies are slowed and take damage. Enemies are also frozen if they linger too long.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Ice Blocked - You must block 1200 damage with Mei's Ice Wall. This can be a bit tricky simply because enemies tend to not shoot the wall. It's best to put it up while playing defense. You can also look for ultimate usage by someone like Pharah - her ultimate does a huge amount of damage and the wall can soak up a lot of it. Perhaps the best way to get this though is to drop a wall in front of Hanzo's dragon ultimate.

You'll want to use your ultimate in a group of enemies and simply hope they don't move out quickly enough (or die to an ally) before they are frozen. In that way, it's unfortunately a bit luck-based.

Torbjörn

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Torb's primary weapon is the Rivet Gun, which fires long range rivets. His secondary fire ejects molten metal at short range for higher damage. He also has a Forge Hammer that he can use to build, upgrade or repair turrets (or deal melee damage).

cn_L1 - Build Turret - Torb places a turret. He can use his Forge Hammer on it to repair or upgrade it, increasing its health and eventually damage output.

cn_R1 - Armor Pack - Torb places an armor pack that he or his allies can pick up to gain armor.

cn_T - Molten Core - This gives Torb a significant amount of armor and allows him to attack faster (which means he can also build, repair, or upgrade much faster).

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Armor Up! - This requires Torb to have armor packs on five allies at once. This is quite easy with five allies, who can simply wait for you to place the armor packs down. With randoms it's far more difficult as they won't likely be focused on preserving the armor (if they even realize they should pick it up). I'd recommend getting a party to get this.

Stories: Animated Short - Alive, Animated Short - Infiltration

Weapons and Abilities: Widowmaker's primary weapon is Widow's Kiss. The primary fires it as either an assault rifle or sniper rifle. The secondary activates or deactivates the scope.

cn_L1 - Grappling Hook - This ability allows Widowmaker to quickly scale buildings and find a good spot to snipe from.

cn_R1 - Venom Mine - This is a proximity mine that adheres to any surface. When enemies are nearby, it will trigger and explode in a cloud of poison gas.

cn_T - Infra-Sight - This ultimate allows Widowmaker and all her allies to see enemies through walls for a decent duration.

Weapons and Abilities: Reinhardt's primary attack is his Rocket Hammer. His secondary is his Barrier Field, which is a massive wall that absorbs 2000 damage.

cn_L1 - Charge - Reinhardt charges forward. If he hits an enemy, they can be pinned against a wall for massive damage.

cn_R1 - Fire Strike - Reinhardt launches a flaming projectile that pierces and damages enemies.

cn_T - Earthshatter - Reinhardt slams his hammer on the ground, knocking enemies down and damaging them.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

I Am Your Shield - You must block 8000 damage with Reinhardt's barrier without dying. The barrier will recharge its health over time, allowing you to block more than its initial 2000 damage. Just play carefully and use your shield often. Reinhardt is in a good position to not die, so that part shouldn't be a challenge. Playing with Mercy can be quite helpful. Be on the lookout for Bastion in sentry form - he shreds your shield instantly.

I Am Your Shield in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Block 8000 damage with Reinhardt's Barrier Field without dying in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 10,553 tracked gamers (33% - TT Ratio = 1.73) 31,647

Storm Earth and Fire - You must use Earthshatter to stun an enemy, then Fire Strike, and finally Charge them. Doing all three of these isn't terribly difficult. It's a typical combo for Reinhardt and one that you should learn to be very comfortable using.

Storm, Earth and Fire in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Land Reinhardt's Fire Strike and Charge after an Earthshatter stun in Quick or Competitive Play.

Roadhog

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: Comic - Going Legit

Weapons and Abilities: Roadhog's primary weapon is Scrap Gun, which is a shotgun. The alternate fire is a shrapnel ball which explodes at a distance.

cn_L1 - Take a Breather - Roadhog restores some of his health.

cn_R1 - Chain Hook - Roadhog hurls a chain and yanks an enemy in close.

cn_T - Whole Hog - Roadhog can fire a wide spray of shrapnel for a short time which knocks enemies back.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Giving You the Hook - You must interrupt an enemy ultimate using Chain Hook. This isn't as difficult as it sounds, it just requires you to be constantly watching. Each ultimate has a telltale sign, either audio or visual or both. Be on the lookout for those signs (you'll learn them as you play). For instance, you can see Genji's green dragon move around him when his ultimate is activated. When you see ones of these signs, simply hook and pull the enemy to net your trophy, and probably a kill.

Giving You the Hook in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Interrupt an enemy ultimate ability with Roadhog's Hook in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 16,065 tracked gamers (51% - TT Ratio = 1.40) 31,647

Hog Wild - You need to knock two enemies to their deaths using Whole Hog. The knockback of his ultimate is very strong, but fall damage does not exist in this game. This means you're looking for edges on the sides of the map. Not every map has these edges, and not all of them are likely to see multiple enemies nearby. As you play, you'll need to learn where to look for these ledges and use the knockback at the perfect time after generating a team fight. It can be useful to have allies ready to distract enemies over to where you lay in ambush. Ilios is a good map for this - wait for the capture zone with the giant pit in the middle.

Winston

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: Animated Short - Recall

Weapons and Abilities: Winston's primary weapon is his Tesla Cannon which fires a short range lightning beam.

cn_L1 - Jump Pack - Winston uses a jet pack to make a significant leap, dealing damage where he lands.

cn_R1 - Barrier Projector - Winston creates a barrier that protects against incoming fire. Allies under the barrier can still fire out.

cn_T - Primal Rage - Winston gains significant amounts of health and damage as well as a lowered cooldown on Jump Pack. However, his Tesla Cannon and Barrier Projector become unavailable.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Mine Sweeper - This is likely going to be one of your most frustrating trophies. You need to kill 10 turrets or traps in a single game without dying using your Tesla Cannon. You'll want to look for heroes like Symmetra, Junkrat, and Widowmaker on the other team. Those three especially are very likely to place traps or turrets. You'll need to carefully patrol the enemy lines looking for these traps. When you see them, zap them with your Tesla Cannon to destroy them. Not only do you have to destroy 10 in one match, but you need to do it without dying. It will require luck in the enemy hero choices as well as skill in not dying and awareness.

Mine Sweeper in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Destroy 10 turrets or traps using Winston's Tesla Cannon without dying in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 4,371 tracked gamers (14% - TT Ratio = 2.69) 31,647

Anger Management - You need to damage every enemy on the other team during a single use of Winston's ultimate. This can be very frustrating when enemies aren't nearby. Use your Jump Pack to your advantage - use it to close distance as well as do AOE damage to enemies. Perhaps the best game mode for this is Control, where all the enemies will tend to congregate at or near the control point.

Anger Management in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Damage 6 enemies during a single use of Winston's Primal Rage in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 6,750 tracked gamers (21% - TT Ratio = 2.16) 31,647

Zarya

External image

Difficulty: High

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Zarya's primary weapon is her Particle Cannon, which is a short range laser beam. Her alternate fire is an explosive shot.

cn_L1 - Particle Barrier - Zarya gets a personal energy barrier that blocks incoming fire and increases the damage of her Particle Cannon.

cn_R1 - Projected Barrier - Zarya can give an ally an energy barrier while also boosting her own damage.

cn_T - Graviton Surge - Zarya launches an orb which pulls enemy heroes into it from a fairly wide area.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Power Overwhelming - You must keep Zarya's Particle Cannon over 70 power for one minute. To do this you'll need to adequately string together effective Particle Barriers which absorb plenty of damage and Projected Barriers on allies. Stay safe when your barrier isn't up to ensure you don't die, and otherwise keep alternating the abilities to ensure you have a constant supply of power.

Power Overwhelming in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Keep Zarya's particle cannon above 70 power for 60 seconds in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 7,356 tracked gamers (23% - TT Ratio = 2.07) 31,647

The Power of Attraction - You must capture five enemies with a single Graviton Surge. If you can find five enemies near eachother, this is actually fairly easy. Unlike the trophies which require quadrakills, you don't need any kills at all with Graviton Surge, which means enemy positioning and your positioning do not need to be quite so precise. Find a group of five enemies and use your ultimate. This happens many times over the course of a game of Escort.

The Power of Attraction in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Capture 5 enemies in a single use of Zarya's Graviton Surge in Quick or Competitive Play.

Ana

Difficulty: High

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Ana has a sniper rifle. It is incapable of a critical hit because the shots actually dead damage over time very rapidly. The alternate fire will heal allies for a substantial amount.

cn_L1 - Sleep Dart - Ana shoots a sleep dart that will stun an enemy for a few seconds. Damage breaks the stun.

cn_R1 - Biotic Grenade - Ana throws a grenade which explodes on impact. It heals allies and increases their healing taken. It deals damage to enemies and prevents them from receiving healing for a few seconds.

cn_T - Nano Boost - Ana hits one of her allies with a combat boost. They move faster, deal more damage, and take less damage.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Ana's Trophies are DLC!

Naptime - You simply need to interrupt an enemy ultimate with your Sleep Dart. Keep on the lookout for enemies like Roadhog, Pharah, and Bastion (among many others) that have extended ultimates. Shoot your dart at them to interrupt it and you'll pop the trophy.

Enabler - You must get four kills or assists by using your ultimate. Your ultimate makes allies do increased damage, so simply communicate. Does your Pharah have her ult? Toss yours on her as she uses it. It's as simple as that. Reaper can be particularly good to hit with this if enemies are grouped as he will absolutely shred the enemy team.

Lúcio

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Lúcio's primary weapon is Sonic Amplifier which allows him to fire sonic projectiles. He can also use it to knock projectiles back towards the enemy team.

cn_L1 - Crossfade - Lúcio plays music for the team which gives him one of two auras - he can either passively heal everyone or give them movement speed.

cn_R1 - Amp It Up - Lúcio amplifies the effect of whatever buff he is giving through Crossfade.

cn_T - Sound Barrier - Lúcio gives all nearby teammates and himself a shield.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

The Floor is Lava - This one is tough. You need to get three killing blows as Lúcio while wallriding without dying. Lúcio's signature ability is wallriding and, once you're used to it, you can do even more than you could in Titanfall. That said, Lúcio is very weak and does not do damage consistently. Getting a three killing blows is tough. My advice is to wait until you're playing defense on a map like Hanamura. The building you defend has many walls Lúcio can wallride between. Wallride above entrances and shoot enemies who enter in the back. This trophy requires a very high proficiency with the wallrides as well as a bit of luck, so do not be discouraged when you don't get it immediately.

The Floor Is Lava in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Get 3 killing blows while wall riding as Lúcio without dying in Quick or Competitive Play.

Supersonic - You need to block 1000 damage with Sound Barrier in a single use. This is not too difficult. If you're playing with a team, have everyone get near you to get the barrier and then run in on the enemy team to get slaughtered. Everyone will soak up hits and you should have no problem soaking 1000 damage if the enemy team is competent. If you're playing with randoms, try to wait until you're playing offense on Escort. Use Sound Barrier on top of the payload with allies nearby and you might be able to get the trophy, but it will be far less consistent. You could also try defense while holding a point in Control.

Supersonic25 (15)

Mercy

External image

Difficulty: Easy

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Mercy's primary weapon is the Caduceus Staff. This allows her to either heal or boost the damage of an ally whom she targets. Her alternate weapon is the Caduceus Blaster, which is a low damage pistol to be used only as a last resort.

cn_L1 - Guardian Angel - Mercy flies toward an ally in line of sight.

cn_R1 - Angelic Descent - Mercy slows her fall speed significantly.

cn_T - Resurrect - Mercy restores nearby allies to life.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

Group Health Plan - You must restore 200 health to five different players without dying. This isn't too tough - just stay at the back lines at all time and keep a lookout for allies who need health. Use your cn_L1 to close the distance to allies who need you and heal them. You need to restore 200 health to every single teammate, so it's definitely easier with a team who's able to communicate with you when they need help.

Group Health Plan in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Restore 200 health for 5 allies without dying as Mercy in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 16,783 tracked gamers (53% - TT Ratio = 1.37) 31,647

Huge Rez - You must resurrect four players at once with Resurrect. This should be very easy while playing in a group - simply have everyone turn a corner and die. Once they're dead, you have about 10 seconds to give them the rez before they respawn from the safety of the corner. If you're playing alone, your best bet is to use Resurrect on a gametype like Control where your allies tend to be in the same area. You'll need to wait until four have died in the same area around the same time, since you only have 10 seconds before players respawn.

Bronze Trophy
Huge Rez30 (15)
Resurrect 6 allies without dying as Mercy in Quick or Competitive Play.

Symmetra

External image

Difficulty: Medium

Stories: Comic - A Better World

Weapons and Abilities: Symmetra's primary weapon is the Photon Projector, which fires a continuous homing beam that does increasing damage. Her alternate fire is a photon orb which has a large hit radius and slow travel time, but can pass throw barriers like Reinhardt's shield.

cn_L1 - Sentry Turret - Symmetra places up to six turrets around the battlefield which slow enemies.

cn_R1 - Photon Shield - Symmetra places a shield on an ally that persists as long as they live.

cn_T - Teleporter - Symmetra places a teleporter on the ground. She and her allies can use the teleporter after dying to return quickly to the battlefield.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

The Car Wash - You need to hit an enemy with 7 lasers at once. The easiest way to do this is to place all six turrets around a single doorway and then wait inside. As soon as an enemy walks in all six turrets will focus the enemy. Symmetra's primary weapon serves as the seventh and final laser required to gain the trophy. You don't need to get a kill.

The Car Wash in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Hit an enemy with 3 beams simultaneously as Symmetra in Quick or Competitive Play.
  • Unlocked by 13,412 tracked gamers (42% - TT Ratio = 1.53) 31,647

Huge Success - You need to teleport 20 players in a single match. Enemy players will be hunting the Symmetra teleporters due to how large of an impact they have, so you'll need to place your teleporter somewhere slightly farther away from the battlefield than would normally be ideal. Don't place it too far away though or you will anger your allies and they may not even use the teleporter. You need to make it look like you're incompetent and bad at placing teleporters, not that you're a troll intent on wasting people's time. Your teleporter can only teleport six teammates before going offline, so you'll need to earn at least four over the course of a game.

Huge Success in Overwatch: Origins Edition
Bronze Trophy
Teleport 20 allies in a single Quick or Competitive Play game as Symmetra.

Zenyatta

External image

Difficulty: High

Stories: None

Weapons and Abilities: Zenyatta throws energy orbs. The alternate fire sends them in a volley after a brief charge.

cn_L1 - Orb of Harmony - Zenyatta sends an orb that restores health over an ally's shoulder. The ally is healed so long as Zenyatta maintains line of sight.

cn_R1 - Orb of Discord - Zenyatta sends an orb that increases enemy damage taken so long as he remains in line of sight.

cn_T - Transcendence - Zenyatta becomes immune to damage and restores health to himself and allies.

Strategy:

Strong Against:

Weak Against:

Trophies:

The Iris Embraces You - You must restore 1500 health in a single use of Transcendence. This is tough mainly because your allies simply aren't usually this hurt. Your best bet is to use it as your allies are charging in, allowing you to heal them as they take damage. It could also be effective when used on top of the payload. You'll need to use this proactively and hope the enemy does enough damage for you to heal, as using it reactively after damage is taken will likely not be enough. It lasts seven seconds, so being used to initiate a teamfight is the ultimate's primary purpose.

The Iris Embraces You in Overwatch: Origins Edition

Rapid Discord - You must get four kills or assists with the Orb of Discord within six seconds. You'll need either a bit of luck or a team you can communicate with. You'll need to pick targets and let your team know who to focus down, then immediately move the orb to the next likely target. The orb has no cooldown so you can quickly swap between targets, but since you need four kills in six seconds, you'll need to make sure you pick the right targets.
