4. Lost Planet 2 MultiplayerUpdate notes

The multiplayer is going to be quite a grind, with 4 people required to boost rank (you can start a Ranked match with less, but you won't earn any XP) and as many as 8 players needed for some of the Noms and awards. The first thing you'll want to do is go into Faction Matches and pick a Faction for you and your group to work towards that week. Boost up the wins for that specific faction, and wait for the end of the week to collect your reward.

I say the first thing to really boost is the Gunner rank, this is the only trophy that requires ranked matches. Trade off with your boosting partners to capture points on Data Post. This will take quite a few hours, as it requires 100,000 ranked career points to attain. After you finish your first match you will earn:

After your 100th match you will earn:

Finally, upon reaching Gunner rank you will earn:

3 weeks into your Faction matches (if you were doing each Faction once before moving on) you will unlock the following after choosing your 3rd faction:

There are a number of Noms/GJA's that are only available in multiplayer, either because you cannot access the proper equipment in the campaign or because it is easier to do them with more people. I am excluding damage Noms from this list simply because I'll have an entire section on them in the following pages:

Co-Op 1

Data Posts Activated: Data Post Streak - Activate 7 Data Posts in a row (re-activating enemy controlled Data Posts also counts.)

- There's no area in the campaign which has 7 data posts. You'll need to do this in Post Grab by taking a post, have an enemy retake them, then take them back once more. Alternatively, you can play on a larger map which has 7 or more posts around it.

Regen Grenade Support: Players - Have 5 teammates healed by a single Regen Grenade.

- Need 8 human players in a Player Match which you then coordinate to be unbalanced 6v2 in the loading screen by turning "Change Team" to ON in the options menu. Once all 6 people on one team are together, toss a Regen grenade near them all to heal everyone within its radius and earn this award.

V Device Support: Players - Have 5 teammates in the radius of a single V-Device.

- Need 8 human players in a Player Match which you then coordinate to be unbalanced 5v2 in the loading screen by turning "Change Team" to ON in the options menu. Once all 5 people on one team are together, put down the V-Device near them to heal everyone within its radius and earn this award.

Data Post Activation Stopped: Kill Streak - Kill 5 enemies that are trying to activate Data Posts.

- Must be done in Post Grab, must have the killing blow land on them as they are activating the post.

Support Weapon Transform Attack: Kill Streak - Kill 10 enemies with any co-op attack.

- Most easily done in multiplayer, with 3 people on one team and 1 on the other. Check "E.D.N. Patrol III" for more information.

Co-Op 2

Team Emote: Players - Have 8 players emote at the same time.

- This one requires 8 people in the same multiplayer game, coordinate everyone to emote simultaneously for this one.

Kill Streak Ended - Kill an enemy who has received the consecutive kill GJ award.

- Have someone on the opposite team repeatedly kill you until they earn the Consecutive Kill award, then kill them.

Points Earned: Points - Collect 10 points in a Points match in online battle.

- When setting up a Team Elimination or standard Elimination game, choose "Points"as the scoring methods. Kill 10 people without dying to collect 10 points.

5-Point Opponents: Kill Streak - Kill 5 enemies who have received 5 points or more.

- Work on this with the above GJA, have an opponent kill you 5 times, then kill them to collect 5 points. Repeat 5 times.

Akrid Egg Goal: Goal Streak - Get the Akrid egg to the goal 5 times.

- Set up an Akrid Egg capture match, carry the egg to the goal 5 times.

Akrid Eggs Intercepted: Interception Streak - Kill 5 enemies who are carrying Akrid eggs.

- Set up an Akrid Egg capture match, have someone on the other team pick up the egg, then kill them. Repeat 5 times.

Fugitive Kill Streak - Kill 5 fugitives in Fugitive matches in online battle.

- Set up a Fugitive game, if you're chosen as the Hunter meet up with the Fugitive and kill them 5 times.

Hunter Kill Streak - Kill 5 hunters in Fugitive matches in online battle.

Infamy

100 Point Soldier - Receive only 100 points or less in 3 consecutive Elimination or Team Elimination matches using Points Rules.

- 1 kill and a number of deaths equates to 100 points, so just get 1 kill and have your boosting buddy finish the match.

Blockhead - Get killed consistently by headshots in one area.

- Can be done in campaign, but much easier to have a buddy snipe you in an online match.

Captured Fugitive - Fail three times as the fugitive in Fugitive Matches.

Grounded Pilot - The VS your are piloting is destroyed 10 times (from anybody's attacks.)

VS Licence Revoked - Fail to eject from a critical VS five times in one game (death by falling also counts.)

- Most easily done on Thunderpeal Precipice Layout 4 with a high VS count since so many of them litter the map.

That's the multiplayer done, but you'll most likely need to play a lot more games in order to boost damage. Weapons are unlocked through the slot machine and VS's are available in certain campaign areas and on certain multiplayer maps. This is a video representation of how to best boost damage with another player.

Weapon Master Noms de Guerre

Standard Weapons

Machine Gun Novice - Do 5,000 points of damage with this weapon.
Machine Gun Maniac - Do 30,000 points of damage with this weapon.

Flamethrower Maniac - Do 15,000 points of damage with this weapon.
Flamethrower Master - Do 100,000 points of damage with this weapon.

- This can also be done with the Akrid Launcher, which I recommend much more. It doesn't seem that burn damage inflicted by the flamethrower counts, so you get more DPS with the Akrid Launcher.

Rifle Maniac - Do 30,000 points of damage with this weapon.

Rocket Launcher Maniac - Do 30,000 points of damage with this weapon.

Injection Gun Maniac - Hit allies 200 times.
Injection Gun Master - Hit allies 1,000 times.

- Equip the Injection Gun and use it on allies, repeat a LOT.

Handgun

Handgun Novice - Do 5,000 points of damage with this weapon.
Handgun Maniac - Do 15,000 points of damage with this weapon.
Handgun Master - Do 100,000 point of damage with this weapon.

Right Hand Weapons

Blaster Master - Earn all Noms de Guerre for regular weapons.

Normal Grenades

Hand Grenade Novice - Do 5,000 points of damage with this grenade.
Hand Grenade Maniac - Do 30,000 points of damage with this grenade.
Hand Grenade Master - Do 300,000 points of damage with this grenade.

- Default grenades, Hand Grenade III has a larger and stronger blast radius. You can probably get this in the campaign.

Incendiary Grenade Maniac - Do 20,000 points of damage with this grenade.
Incendiary Grenade Master - Do 100,000 points of damage with this grenade.

- A horrible weapon, likely doesn't count burn damage and only initial explosive damage. Best boosted since it takes ages and is dangerous.

Buster Grenade Maniac - Do 20,000 points of damage with this grenade.
Buster Grenade Master - Do 100,000 points of damage with this grenade.

Dummy Grenade Maniac - Do 30,000 points of damage with this grenade.
Dummy Grenade Master - Do 300,000 points of damage with this grenade.

- Best to boost, needs to be unlocked.

Regen Grenade Maniac - Heal 2,500 HP with this grenade.
Regen Grenade Master - Heal 10,000 HP with this grenade.

- Fairly quick, have someone use a flamethrower to do burn damage to themselves while you have a Regen grenade on them.

Warp Grenade Maniac - Use warp grenade to warp 100 times.
Warp Grenade Master - Use warp grenade to warp 500 times.

- A weird one, keep putting down Warps and traveling through the portals before putting down another one. Best done online.
