From a Trophy Hunter perspective, this is a great buy when it is on sale. There's barely any game mechanics to worry about, just choices. A player can follow a walkthrough pretty easily and score all the trophies in an afternoon. It will take a few hours, but it has a decent story.
From a gamer perspective, Late Shift is not a video game. It's just a video. The Super Best Friends LP channel correctly pointed out that games like Night Trap and Sewer Shark for the Sega CD have way more in depth mechanics. You can fail to make any choices and the game will progress. I would liken it to Three Fourths Home with way better production value and a platinum trophy at the end. Honestly it's a lot like the idea for the future of movies when I was a media studies major, that the audience would one day be able to choose their own adventure.
