Play Time
For the game's true completion time, it'll depend on whether you want to watch the cinematic cutscenes or skip them. For the full watch-time, you're looking at a three hour "movie" experience, while skipping everything will net you all six trophies in about ten minutes. Again, unless you're just looking to score an easy 100% and some quick trophies, or already know the story from it's Nintendo DS origins, it's highly recommended that you watch and read everything to have a full understanding of the story. The choice is yours.
Skipping Option
When going through the game, opting to skip everything, you'll need to simply choose a chapter from the Chapter section, once the scene begins press START, then choose "Go to next chapter". You can do this continuously until you finish all the chapters in the game. Also, you'll know it counts as the outline of the chapter title will change from black to blue. There's only one trophy that revolve around the Character entries, which cannot be accessed until you've watched every chapter of the story. For this skip method, just select an entry and, while viewing the entry, press the R1 button and you'll flip through each page of the entries. Doing so will register each entry as read and is a lot faster than reading each at a time.
