Tutorial

You should start with the tutorial, this will run you through the basics of the game and you can get some of the trophies out of the way here too. You start the tutorial with some powerups available for use. The important powerup is the Heart symbol, this is the defibrillator and allows you to revive a downed worker. Make sure any worker is downed during the tutorial, you can do this by entering the room so they get a health bar and then don't clear the fire. Once they are downed, stand over them with the defibrillator powerup selected and press cn_T to revive them and unlock:

You will be guided through the tutorial and taught to put out fires, save workers, save a cat, turn off the power and complete a mission. It is possible to fail each of these tasks except turning off the electricity. This is because cats, workers and Miss Ion can be killed, and you can fail to revive them in time (note: you can't revive a cat). You should try to complete them here in the tutorial as they all award trophies, but don't worry if you fail any as you can get them all within the main game (or repeat the tutorial).

Your first task should be to clear the fire out of each room on your way to the fuse box. Press cn_L1 to open the map and locate the room with the Red symbol with a lightning bolt through it. Make your way to this room and press cn_S on the button to disable the power and unlock:

To save a worker or a cat you will talk to them with cn_X and they will start following you. You can then lead them to the fire exit (where you first arrived in the game). The mini-map and main map has a green symbol with arrow through it to show you the exit location, also the edge of your screen will have a green glow in the direction of the fire exit. If you plan to clear more rooms before taking them to the exit then you can hold cn_X to get them to stay where they are and then you can come back for them. Taking them to the exit will unlock:

The mission within the tutorial and also the first level is to find a red bag. Miss Ion has misplaced it somewhere in the level. You find it by walking near any objects (plants, desks, cupboards, etc) looking for the Search option. Pressing cn_S on the search option will find an item, which may be the bag. If you have trouble finding the bag, then speaking to Miss Ion will reveal a clue on which type of room she left it in. Once you've found the red bag you can take it to Miss Ion to complete the mission and unlock:

Learning the game mechanics and unlocking stat upgrades

I would advise playing through the game as far as you can for a few hours without worrying about any specific trophies. Learning to clear rooms quickly without losing your health and minimise worker and cat deaths are the most important steps to getting through all the trophies. You should aim to do the any missions you can, they are on levels 1-1, 1-3, 2-1, 2-3, 3-1, 3-3, 4-2 and 4-4. That will reward you with tokens and allow you to purchase stat upgrades which make the game easier. When you are reaching levels 3-1 or above then you are definitely good enough to start working on trophies.

Once you have completed 1 mission and obtained a token, when you next start the game, you will be taken to the stat upgrade screen. The best stat to purchase will give you fire resistance which means you will last longer before losing health. It costs 4 tokens to unlock (4 missions), and then it costs cash to purchase each level (£600, £1200, £1800, and £2400). Once you unlock one level of a stat, you will unlock the trophy:

Every Little Helps

Buy a stat upgrade.

Every Little Helps
1 guideOffline Game ModeSingle PlayerShop

To get all levels of all stats you will need 14 mission tokens to unlock all stats, and then a total of £42,000 to purchase every level. You will most likely spread this over multiple playthroughs as it is unlikely you will get that amount of money in 1 playthrough unless you do a no powerup purchase run. The stat upgrades (in order I would recommend getting them) available are:

  • Fire Proof - Increase durability from fire
  • Cost Cutter - Decrease the cost of powerups at the shop
  • Bonus Bombs - Increase the amount of water bombs carried up to 7 maximum
  • Tough Enough - Workers can be revived for longer before they die
  • Finders Keepers - Increase amount of hidden items within the game
  • Rapid Refill - Increase speed in which you refill from taps
  • Long Lens - Increase the length of time that the magnifying glass powerup lasts

Upon unlocking all stat levels you will unlock:

Perfect Conditioning

Upgrade all player stats fully.

Office levels (1-1 to 1-4)

As the levels are randomly generated, I will just give you rough advice for each stage and mission help. The hardest part of the office levels are the carpeted rooms. Fire spreads quickest on these. Make sure you soak them with the hose to minimise spread.

Mission on level 1-1

Your objective is the same as it was within the tutorial. You have to find a red bag and return it to Miss Ion. As before, you can speak to her to find out what type of room it is within and then look in that type of room for the Search option that you can press cn_S to find out what is hidden there. If it is the red bag you can take it to Miss Ion and complete the mission. If you didn't get it in the tutorial, then on completion you will unlock:

Lost and Found

Complete the ‘Lost Property’ Mission.

Mission on level 1-3

Your objective is to find 5 files and post them in a post box. The files are hidden around the level and you again need to look for the Search option to find these. When you have 5 you can go to the post box and press cn_S to post them. The room it is within is shown on the map as a yellow exclamation mark (!). Miss Ion will tell you how many you have and put a counter above the mini-map. There is no punishment for trying to post them before you have 5 so if you are unsure you can just try. You will hear a noise if they are posted successfully. After posting these you can talk to Miss Ion to complete the mission and unlock:

Executive levels (2-1 to 2-4)

You can either start from the office and work your way to this level or just start from here. When I was learning the game, I would just start here. You start without powerups or spare cash that you would normally carry over from the office levels so there is a downside to starting here, but if you were finishing the 4 office levels with less than 5 minutes then starting here directly gives you more time. The choice is yours.

The executive levels are the same as the office levels in difficulty. So same tactics apply here.

Mission on level 2-1

You have to unlock a safe and take some jewels from it to give to Miss Ion. To get the key for the safe you have to talk to Miss Ion. So make sure you clear the fire within the room she is in and then talk to her for the key. You can then find the safe on your map, the safe room will have a yellow exclamation mark (!). Go to this room and use the search option (cn_S) on every wall and corner until the number next to the jewel icon (next to the mini-map) is at zero. Then return to Miss Ion to complete the mission and unlock:

Safe Hands

Complete the ‘Safe Cracker’ Mission.

Mission on level 2-3

You have to find 4 rooms, each room containing a number, and use them in a certain order. The rooms will be shown on your map with a yellow exclamation mark (!). Miss Ion will give you the order you should use them within. You can press cn_S on any of them when you locate them, if it makes a noise then that was the correct one, if it doesn't make a noise then it was wrong, but there is no punishment. Once you've used each of them in order, you can return to Miss Ion to complete the mission and unlock:

Laboratory level (3-1 to 3-4)

This is where the game difficulty really increases. The laboratory levels add multiple new hazards to get through. The first is green goo, the second is gas, thirdly fireballs from vents and finally floor grates exploding with fire.

The green goo is a toxic substance that hurts you if you stand on it (unless you have Spiked Boots equipped) and burns a green fire. The green fire hurts you quicker than normal fire. To clear this you need to hose away the goo, but the fire takes longer to put out so you have to hold the hose on it for longer. You should use the extinguisher on the green fire which will put it out quicker, but the goo will catch back on fire from any surrounding fire, so you have to hose it away quickly once putting it out. The goo is being produced by toxic barrels that bubble it out, so even when you have cleared it out, you could get hit by a fireball from a vent that sets it back on fire. Make a point of clearing all excess goo you find when passing back through areas. Water bombs are also great for clearing the goo as they will instantly put out the fire and wash the goo at the same time. The trouble of course is aiming them perfectly to do that.

The gas is produced in some rooms from vents in the wall. To close these off you need to use your extinguisher on the gas or throw a water bomb at it. There are usually multiple different points within the room and usually the room is also on fire. You will take damage from standing in the room that contains the gas, unless you have a gas mask equipped. So you will need to be quick in shutting off the gas and possibly have to do it in multiple attempts, clear 1 vent and leave the room to heal back up before going for the next bit.

Along the walls there are often vents. Some of these will have a hole in them. If it has a hole then it has the potential to produce a fireball when you are in the room. You can hear a noise when the fireball enters, so if you hear it, make sure it hasn't created a fire. Also be aware when telling workers and cats to wait. Standing them in front of a vent like this can easily get them killed.

Some rooms will have floor grates that can explode with fire. It makes an air sucking noise and you can see a white line around it when it is going to happen. Then it will explode and produce fire. Spraying your hose over it when the noise happens is the best way to minimise the impact. I have had it happen when Miss Ion is standing next to them which is the worst as you can't always move her and she can instantly die from it.

Mission on level 3-1

You have to kill 8 aliens that are located within pods. The pods are rectangular with a square window that you can see an alien behind. You need to press cn_S on the pods which will cover over the window and produce smoke. If you speak to Miss Ion, she will tell you how many you have left and add a counter above the mini-map with the remaining number. There is nothing on the map to indicate which room contains 1 to 4 aliens, but I found they are usually within a square shaped room. Once you've done all 8 aliens, you can go to Miss Ion to complete the mission and unlock:

Mission on level 3-3

Located throughout the level will be yellow pipes that have a valve on top. One of these will have fire spewing out of it. Walk up to the one that is producing the fire and you can press cn_S to turn it off. This will then cause another valve to start spewing fire. You must repeat this until you have turned them all off. Miss Ion will tell you how many you have left and put a counter above the mini-map. This mission can be quite time consuming as you end up wandering around and backtracking. Try to memorise all the rooms you see the valve in so you don't backtrack into rooms without one. Once you've got them all you can talk to Miss Ion and unlock:

Factory level (4-1 to 4-4)

The factory levels have all the newly added hazards that the Laboratory added and 1 additional one. The addition is proximity barrels. When you walk close to a proximity barrel it will start beeping and a light will flash on it. Shortly after, it will explode. Most of the time these are hidden under fire so you don't even know they're there until they start beeping. You can stop them from exploding by firing your extinguisher at them or throwing a water bomb. This will freeze the barrel instead. There is a trophy for freezing 10 barrels, which can be done over multiple playthroughs. As you will be freezing every one of them that you can, this will come naturally.

The missions for this one are on 4-2 and 4-4 rather than X-1 and X-3 like the others. The shop is on 4-1 and 4-3.

Mission on level 4-2

This mission is the most irritating in my experience as if you are low on time, you might fail the mission from having too much distance to cover before you can save a worker.

The Miss Ion objective is to locate a robot that looks like a worker. To do this you have to find the metal detector and take each worker through it. If it is human then the light on the metal detector will go green. If it is the robot then the light will go red and it will beep. Once you know which worker is the robot you then have to take them to the incinerator. The incinerator room is a square room on the map with an extra bit coming from it at the doorway. It is the only room I have seen on the map like this making it easy to locate. Once the robot is in the room, make them wait on the grate floor and press the button in the corner. Do not walk on fire once lit, or you will die. Once the robot is destroyed, you can talk to Miss Ion and unlock:

Mission on level 4-4

The biggest room on this map will contain a rocket that is surrounded by 9 numbers. You have to input a sequence in order, and you only get 1 attempt. Therefore do not press any number until you have spoken to Miss Ion and got the code. She will give you 3 numbers at a time, and she will not repeat herself, so do not talk to her whilst putting out fires as you can miss the code. I would talk to her and pause it to write down the numbers, just in case I forgot. The numbers will disappear even when paused though, so you need to pay attention when she's talking. Once you've put 3 numbers in, return to her for the next 3, put them in and get the final 3. You can then walk up to the rocket to disarm it and return to Miss Ion to unlock:

You may also unlock a few more if you met specific requirements on your run, but if it is your first time through then probably not. I will cover the other trophies below.

Dedicated run trophies

I would advise being fully stat upgraded before attempting these. Focusing on just one of these trophies at a time will make it easier. Although you can stack them all, it would be pretty hard to do them and you can end up dying or running out of time as you are trying to do too much. Each of these except for the speed run are about taking your time. It is very easy to charge in to a room and lose a heart of health almost instantly.

Complete the game without buying powerups

You can not buy any powerups from the store for this one and must start from the Office stage, all the way to the end. I would go to the first 2 stores, if the powerups were useless then I would work on this trophy. If the powerups were good then I would go for one of the other full playthrough trophies. Save as many people and cats as you can for the time and health. Also do the missions if they are not going to waste too much time. Once you've completed the game with no store powerups, you will unlock:

Recording of my no powerups run. Also unlock the platinum at the end of the video as this was my last trophy. PS4 streaming blurs out the trophy unlocks so they are located within the Annotations:

Complete the game in under 1 hour

This one can be tricky. I found the Super Hose to be the best powerup for this one. It allows you to clear rooms quickly, especially when they have the green goo fires. Secondly is Speed Boots. The benefit of those is obvious. Being able to speed through areas and clear fire quickly make that a great combo. On my run I got the Super Hose in the first shop and the Speed Boots in the fourth shop. My final time was 45 minutes.

For this one you should make a note of the time you start the run at. Then save as many workers as you can on the way through and once the remaining time you have is more than the remaining time in the hour, you can stop saving anyone. Only do a mission if you stumble in to the solution. Never go out of your way for it. At that point just focus on clearing fire as quick as possible. Do not go for this whilst working on other trophies. You will waste too much time doing any other task than clearing rooms ASAP.

Once you've completed the game in less than an hour you will unlock:

Complete all missions in one run

You need to complete every mission in a single run. This can be quite hard as it is easy for a stray fireball to take out Miss Ion when you enter the room which would void the trophy unless you had the defibrillator to revive her. When you finish the final mission, you still have to complete the game to get the trophy. Upon completing the game after doing all missions you will unlock:

You can combine this with the two hardest trophies if you get a lucky run with no instant deaths. For those trophies see the next section:

Complete all missions and save everyone

There are 2 trophies with the objective to complete all missions and save everyone. The difference between them is one can be done with workers getting downed and being revived, and one of them can't. No man left behind allows you to use revives and Fireproof does not. The description of Fireproof suggests you don't have to save the cats, but you do. After a run with dead cats, I asked the developer and got confirmation.

I would try for both of these in the same run. There is no guarantee you will get the defibrillator, but if you do then you can take it if you want to at least get one of these hard trophies. I will stress that this is not going to be easy. Instant deaths of workers and cats are very common in my experience. To minimise them you want to clear rooms as best you can from the doorway and use water bombs to clear near workers and cats.

There are 79 workers, 16 cats and 8 missions to do. There are a few important powerups that can really help with this step. There is no guarantee of getting them in your run, but hopefully you will. These are:

  1. Super Hose is the most useful. You can open a door and clear most of the fire without entering. Workers and cats don't get health until you enter.
  2. Speed boots help as you can charge in to a room and grab a worker or cat to get them out quickly. Also it keeps the time loss down and speeds up missions.
  3. Heartbeat Sensor allows you to see where cats/workers/Miss Ion are. This makes planning a route easier.
  4. Holy water allows you to heal workers and cats by spraying them. It won't save them from instant death, but will keep them alive easier.

If you can get through with no deaths and all missions done then you will unlock:
