3. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Chapter 1 & 2Update notes

Hello and welcome to my guide for Final Fantasy Type-0! This will be a long one as there are so many things to do, trophy related and not! I shall try my best to include absolutely everything so please bare with me!






When you start a new game you will need to choose which difficulty to do it on. I recommend Officer as that is required to get a few neccessary things, though you can change difficulty at any point in the game and if a mission is too hard for you now, you can replay that Mission on Officer later to get the rewards.




Before you start choose your difficulty. Then the opening cutscene shall play out.



Chapter 1 War-Three Hours That Changed the World

[Cutscene]

Area - Vermilion Bird Gate
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Leader - Sergeant Major Blaise (RPG-155 Gunner)
Imperial Trooper x 6

Items:
None.

When you first take control, you will have three members in your party along with The Life Armlet which grants Reraise so your characters will instantly revive if their hp reaches 0. The three members are "Ace" "Nine" and "Queen"

Accept or decline the tutorial to start the level!

Tutorial 1.
Tilt cn_LS to move and tilt cn_RS to look around. Press cn_RSc to reset your view.

Move forward and the gate in front of you will open. Two soldiers will be killed and an enemy will be left.

Tutorial 2.
Press cn_S to attack.

Attack the Imperial Trooper until he dies.

Tutorial 3.
Use cn_R1 to lock on to fallen enemies, then press cn_S to harvest Phantoma. Collecting phantoma restores MP and damages nearby enemies.

Move a little further and another tutorial will pop up.

Tutorial 4.
Neutralize energy walls by defeating specific enemies or collecting phantoma.
Use cn_R1 to lock on to a target, Tilt cn_RSl or cn_RSr or press cn_L2 / cn_R2 to switch targets. Tilt cn_RSd to target the closest enemy and tilt cn_RSu to target fallen enemies or nearby objects.
Stand still to recover HP.
Putting away your weapon with cn_L1 increases the rate at which you recover HP, but also the amount of damage you take.
Press cn_O while moving to dodge.

Two more Imperial Troopers will appear, kill them and harvest before moving up the stairs.

Tutorial 5.
Change active leaders with cn_left or cn_right (Depletes Ability Gause).
When locked on to a target, a coloured mark indicates vulnerability.
Attack an enemy with a yellow mark (Breaksight) to deal massive damage.
Attack an enemy with a red mark (Killsight) To instantly kill the target.

Two more Imperial Troopers will appear. Kill these and harvest before moving on.

Tutorial 6.
Enemy leaders are marked with a distinct icon. Defeat the leader to end combat.

Another Imperial trooper arrives along with the leader Sergeant Major Blaise.

Kill these to get another tutorial!

Tutorial 7.
Remaining enemies start to flee when their leader falls. Approach and press cn_X to force them to surrender and to acquire items.

Move towards the glowing portal in front of you to get yet another tutorial.

Tutorial 8.
Stand on recovery portals to recover your HP, MP and AG.

Step on it to recover and head on to the next area.


Area - Terraced Square
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Unidentified Target x 1
Imperial Trooper x 3

Items:
Knowing Tag x 2


Tutortial 9.
Hold down the assigned button to begin casting a spell, then release to attack. For some spells, holding the button longer may result in stronger magic.


There is a [Knowing Tag] on a body near one of the enemies. Three Imperial Troopers will be waiting, after you kill one another tutorial pops up.

Tutorial 10.
Lock on with cn_R1 and tilt cn_RSu to target a fallen enemy, then press cn_S to harvest their phantoma.

Kill another Imperial Trooper for another tutorial.

Tutorial 11.
Press the assigned button to use a special ability (Depletes Ability Gauge). Refill the Ability Gauge (AG) by dealing damage to enemies.

Kill the last remaining Imperial trooper to gain victory in this area. Straight away a cutscene plays out.

After you gain control, you will be attacked by a very large floating target, Unidentified Target (Level ???) You can not kill this or damage it so just dodge it's attacks untill it disappears. When it does run up the stairs, along your way there will be a small fire and beside it an item, pick it up to recieve [Knowing Tag]. After continue on towards the next area and use the portal to heal up. head towards the red light for another tutorial.

Tutorial 12.
An arrow appears over switches and other important objects. Press cn_X to interact with an object.

Doing so will unlock the door that leads to the next area.


Area - Tasuki Bridge
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Trooper x 6

Items:
None.

As you enter an airship will drop off two Imperial Troopers along with these there are four Imperial Troopers more along the walls beside the bridge, you will need range attacks or magic to kill these. When you do you will get a victory in this area and a cutscene will play out.

Area - Rubrum Square.
Victory: N/A

Enemies:
None.

Items:
Knowing Tag x 1

When the cutscene finishes you will automatically be in the next area. Walk forward a bit to get another tutorial.

Tutorial 13.
Use relic terminals to save, reorganize your squad and check your status.

Walk towards the red object with "Menu" above it and activate it. This is basically your save point. When you click on it you will have access to only these for now;

Assignment - Choose who in your squad you want to control from your reserves.

Reserves - Check those you picked for reserves and put them in any order you like.

Armament - Choose a person who you wish to equip accessories, weapon, Commands and Defense moves.

Promotion - Choose Abilities to pick a character and learn new skills and passive abilities. Choose Stats to use stat improving items on a character.

Save - Save your game.

Load - Load a previous saved game.

After you have finished with the menu, use the portal to heal up and look for one of the dead bodies that has an item, picking it up will give you [Knowing Tag] Now head towards the next area.


Area - Airship Landing
Victory: Defeat any leader.

Enemies:
Leader - Second Lieutenant Ernest (Nymurod)
Imperial Trooper x 10

Items:
None.

Tutorial 14.
Stand still and hold cn_O to take a defensive stance (Depletes AG) or use defense magic (Uses MP).

Six Imperial Troopers will stand in your way. You will need to kill all of these and move forward towards the switch. Activate it to continue on. After you have the floor will raise for you to move on. Two more Imperial Troopers will be free to kill now along with the leader Second Lieutenant Ernest. As you approach the leader the lift behind him will lower and bring along another two Imperial Troopers. Killing the leader will bring the Vvctory in this area.

If you have killed all the Imperial troopers and none surrendered you should get your first trophy. [The White Tiger Roars]

Head towards the lift to enter the next area.


Area - Imperial Flagship
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Trooper x 5

Items:
None.

The lift will raise you and your party towards your next destination. Not much to do until two Imperial Troopers jump from their floor level. When the lift takes you to the top floor you will have three more Imperial Troopers waiting for you behind a Barricade, Killing all enemies will bring victory in this area. Now use the portal to heal up at the end and head towards the next area.


Area - Main Deck
Victory: Defeat enemy leaders.

Enemies: Part 1
Leader - Second Lieutenant Vandamme (Supersoldier)
RPG-155 Gunner x 2
Imperial Trooper x 6

Enemies: Part 2
Leader - Major Xulian (Striker)
Imperial Trooper x 3

Objects:
Barricade x 2

Items:
None.

There will be four Imperial Troopers and a RPG-155 Gunner here along with two Barricades to start with. Once you have dealt with them head further into the area. Two more Imperial Troopers, one RPG-155 Gunner along with their leader Second Lieutenant Vandamme will appear after closing off your objective, killing him will bring victory to this area. Once you have the doors will open behind the leader and your objective waits behind it. Walk up to the objective and press cn_X to start a mini cutscene.

After you will be told to get out of there. Head back towards the lift and find three Imperial troopers waiting for you, as you are fighting their leader will arrive by the lift, Major Xulian. Killing him brings victory in this area and afterwards you should head towards the lift and the screen will go white.

Area - Airship Landing
Victory: N/A

Enemies:

Items:

After the cutsene you will be back at the Airship Landing area. Go back on yourself and you will get another cutscene.

Area - Rubrum Square
Victory: N/A

Enemies:

Items:
None.

Before you take control you will get a message stating that Class Zero's Life Armlets have shattered which means the Reraise effect has worn off, if your character drops to 0HP you can not use them.

The big creature before you will get up and fly away. Move over the portal and use the save point to save before heading towards your next objective.


Area - Fountain Courtyard
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:

Items:
Knowing Tag x 1

Fortified Ration x 1

As soon as you gain control, you will be under attack by two Nymurods, killing these will bring victory to the area. Once done head back to where you started and collect the item from the dead body, obtaining [Knowing Tag] Afterwards head to the oppersit side and up the stairs, in the right corner there is an item on the floor, pick it up to get Fortified Ration That's all for this area so move on to the next.


Area - Arena
Victory: Defeat the boss.

Enemies: Part 1
Boss -Dainsleif
Imperial Trooper x infinite

Enemies: Part 2
Boss - Dainsleif

Items:

Tutorial 15.
Introduction to the Eidolon Odin's move set.
Moonring Blade: Broad slice.
Zantetsuken: Death Slash (Hold button to charge).
Cavalier Charge: Forward thrust.
Prance: Quick sidestep.

Boss fight: Dainsleif (Level ???)

The boss is a massive machine, Dainsleif, with Qun'mi as the pilot. She is accompanied by four Imperial Troopers which will keep respawning over time. Start by ignoring the troops and focusing offensively against the boss. There is no need to worry about healing or defence, just use Cavalier charge and you should be able to take her out before she takes you out. When you see the killsight symbol appear the next hit will kill and you will gain victory over this fight.

The enemy doesn't have many moves:
- Shoots a laser that will aim at your main Character.
- A barrage of Missiles.
- Swipes with her Claws.

Boss fight 2: Dainsleif (Level ???)

Your party members have changed. You now control Ace, Jack and Seven for this boss fight. It's a pretty straightforward battle, She doesn't have many attacks, if you are quick you can rush in and spam blizzard and her health will drop quickly. Once depleted she will reactivate the Machine and regain half a health bar. This is when her attacks become stronger. She will mostly shoot a laser from her energy core which will aim at your main character. just simply dodge her attacks and when you get a chance, attack yourself in hopes of getting a breaksight hit. You are too slow don't worry, the boss doesn't have much life and your team mates will eventually kill her off. When you deplete her health a second time a killsight will appear, letting you finish the fight and gain victory.
The boss has the same moveset as before.

REPORT CARD

This is where you will be graded on your performance. You will be graded mostly on Playthrough time, Phantoma Harvested and Casualties. All three will be graded A-D However if you get three A's you end with an overall rank of S. This will give you more gill and better and sometimes unique gear, weapons, Eidolons.

To get an S Rank in this mission, you will need to get:

Playthrough time: 7:00.
Phantoma Havested: 40.
Casualties: 0.

Completing this mission will reward you with a Megalixer.

Completing this Mission on Officer difficulty will reward you with the Magic [Fire SHG.]

When you take control you will be Ace on your own, feel free to walk around and talk to people while Chancellor Chival VI talks to everyone. When he finishes a cutscene will play out

After the cutscene you will be prompted to save as well as earning the trophy [Enter Class Zero]





CHAPTER 2 RAISE THE VERMILION BANNER

Area - Fountain Courtyard

For the first time you will be able to explore Akademeia, Home to the Vermilion Peristylium. However for now you are limited to which rooms you can visit so let's do a bit of story before looking around. You start at the courtyard walk forward and you will be stoped by a girl named Aki. She will tell you to head to your homeroom. You will get a mission marker placed on the map to help you find your destination. Head north and go to the Entrance room.

Area - Entrance

You can talk to people though nothing interesting as you have to head to your room so go west and to the hallway section.

Area - Hallway

When you enter the hallway you will notice Dr. Arecia Al-Rashia waiting, she will speak with you before you can head to your classroom. When she finishes talking, you will see the save point/menu the oppersit side of her, the Classroom straight ahead so when ready, enter.

Area - Classroom Zero

As you enter, walk towards the front of the class for a cutscene to play out.

After the cutscene plays out you will ahve 6 hours before the main story progresses. Talk to the Moogle to get started. You will be told to head to the cemetery.

In the Classroom you will see Aria (Will have "Info" above her head) beside the front desk, she will sell you your basic items like potions.

SHOP - ARIA

Potion100 gil.
Ether2,000 gil.


Tutorial 16.
Equip an item from the field menu and use it with cn_down.

You can talk to the odd member from Class Zero but it would be best to head north to the Back Garden.

Area - Back Garden

Nothing here but the odd person you could talk to. Head towards the Cemetery (The gate will have "Main" in front of it).

Area - Cemetary

Area - Back Garden

When the cutscene finishes you will be back by the Cemetary gate. The gate wil now have an "?" instead of "Main" now. Head back to the Classroom for now.

Area - Classroom Zero

Mog will talk to you as soon as you enter.

Tutorial 17.
You have twelve hours of free time in one day.
Pay attention to characters with the following icons:
"?": Offers tutorials and hints for proceeding further in the game.
"!": Initiates an event, but uses two hours of free time.
Info: Provides a particular service, like selling items.
Gold bird symbol: Neccessary for proceeding further in the game.

After Mog finishes talking you have access to near enough every area in Akademeia.

Head towards the Hallway once Mog finishes.

Walk towards the terminal to start a cutscene.

Afterwards head to the Entrance.

When you walk through Aki will talk to you and will give you a little idea of where everything is.

Feel free to explore every room and get a feel for where everything is. When you are done I will list everything you can do and you may choose how you spend your 6 hours doing. I will just list the areas and what you can find in each.

Airship Landing

Main Gate

Class Ninth Cadet "Info" - Talks about being a Master Explorer.

Entrance

Crystarium

Chronicles Officer "?"

Checking the Rubicus (That has Info floating above it) willl activate a tutorial.

Tutorial 18.
Fulfill certain conditions to unlock carious entries in the Rubicus. can you unearth all of Orience's secrets?

Central Command

Dominion Tribune "?"

Dominion Quaestor "?"
Talking to this person will give you another tutorial.

Tutorial 19.
Adjust the difficulty from relic terminals around Orience.
-Cadet (Novice): reduces damage received and lowers enemy HP.
-Officer (Intermediate): Standard difficulty level.
-Agito (Adavanced): Increases all Mission levels by 30. (This basically means all enemies levels will be +30)
Fulfill certain conditions to unlock an even greater challenge.

Tutorial 20.
Activate backup settings to receive support from Akademeia and earn SPP.

Dominion Tribune 2 "?"
This one is by the end of the table and gives another tutorial.

Tutorial 21.
Completed missions can be replayed at any time.
Any character may participate in these replays regardless of the data loaded.

Tutorial 22.
Items and EXP earned during replay missions are saved and applied to your current file.
Missions cannot be replayed from a mid-mission save file.

Dominion Tribune "Info"
This is the person you trade your SPP for weapons, accessories and items.

Tutorial 23.
The Support Personnel (SP) consists of cadets who provide backup for their comrades on missions.
Requesting backup from the SP earns Support Personnel Points (SPP) and boosts your SP Rank.
Earn a higher SP Rank to access exclusive spells and equipment.

Tutorial 24.
Earn Support Personnel Points (SPP) by requesting backup from other cadets.
Exchange SPP for items at the SPP Post in Central Command.

Tachinami "Info"
Talk to this guy if you want to skip straight to the main story.

Tutorial 25.
Speak with Tachinami to skip ahead to mission day.
Advancing time will cancel all incomplete events and requests.

Back Garden

Interact with the gate with the "?" to get another tutorial.

Tutorial 26.
Some events at Akademeia can only be triggered by using certain characters.
Change active members at relic terminals.

Change your character to either Rem or Machina and return to the Back Garden, The entrance to The Cemetary now has a "!"

Choosing this will give you a cutscene and take 2 hours from your timer.

After you will receive an X-Potion and an Elixer.

Chocobo Ranch

O'bane "?"
Talking to O'bane will give you a brief intro to chocobos and will give you [Male chocobo] x 10 and [Female chocobo] x 10.
After that you will recieve [Gysahl greens] x 3.

Tsubasa "Info"
Talk to Tsubasa if you wish to test ride your chocobos.

Terrace

Machina "!"
Talking to Machina will cost 2 hours of your time, give you a cutscene and you will get a Hi-potion.

Guildsman "Info"
The Guildsman is the man who will sell you weapons and accessories for all your characters.

Sorcery

Sorcery Researcher "?"

Grandsorcerer "Info"
Talking to this guy lets you accept or decline Special Orders. (VERY IMPORTANT!! MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW)

Tutorial 27.
Review incoming Special order (SO) transmissions with the touch pad.
After confirming their contents, you may choose to decline with no penalty.
however, if an SO is acepted, the penalty for failure is death.
Avoid death by dodging three of the portals that appear.
Earn rewards by completing these special tasts. SOs with red icons provide exceptional rewards.

It's best to accept SO's even if you choose not to do them just for the exceptional rewards.

Dr. Arecia Al-Rashia "!"
Talking to the Dr. will take 2 hours from your time. You can choose to keep talking or not, if you choose not to keep talking, you don't lose your 2 hours. However if you do you will recieve a [Hi-potion].


Once you visit every area, Mog will give you a transmition giving you a reward for visiting everywhere, giving you an [X-potion].

You can do every "!" event before this mission so you may as well go ahead and talk to those people:

Dr. Arecia Al-rashia in Sorcery.

Machina in Terrace.

As Rem or Machina, visit the graveyard.


When your timer runs out you will get a cutscene before you have to head towards your Classroom.

You can't do anything when it's Mission Time, everyone you talk to will tell you to go to your classroom so head straight there.

Classroom Zero

Talk to Kuramasa to get started and get another Tutorial.

Tutorial 28
Activate backup settings to receive support from Akademeia and reduce the damage you take.
However, Support Personnel casualties will be tallied as part of your mission grade.

MISSION BRIEFING

Mission: The Cadets' First Deployment.
Date: Aqu. XXI, 842.
Mission Level: 12.

After the virtual annihilation of its forces in the imperial invasion, Rubrum decides to conscript cadets into the military and send them to battle. The dominion forms an elite unit of cadets who will recapture McTighe, located on the outskirts of Akademeia. Central Command selects Class Zero to be a part of this operation, making their first time experiencing "real" combat.

Once you have finished talking you will be told to go to the Main gate to start the mission so head straight there.

Area - Main Gate
Before you continue and leave Akademeia Moglin will stop you and give a tutorial.

Tutorial 29.
Cadets who participate in combat will receive experience points (EXP) and level up.
Those who remain in the reserves throughout a mission will not earn EXP.
However, some cadets perform better than others depending on the circumstances.
Prepare for anything by training all of your cadets evenly, then utilize their unique strengths to gain the upper hand in battle.
Adjust your squad foration at relic terminals mid-mission and deploy your reserves , or replay completed missions from "Mission" on the title screen to train other cadets.

Tutorial 30.
Cadets not currently participating in combat remain on standy in the reserves.
Those who stay in the reserve squad throughout a mission will not earn EXP or level up.
You can adjust your active squad formation at relic terminals.
However, when on eof your active members falls in battle, press cn_up to replace him or her with a cadet from the reserves.
Losing all cadets will result in game over.

Tutorial 31.
Certain squad formations grant active members Primed status at the start of missions.
These cadets receive Aura and Trance status and take less damage.
Aborting the mission will send the squad back to Akademeia and allow them to keep all EXP earned.
If all members die in battle, they will lose all EXP and restart from the last save point.

Tutorial 32.
All HP and MP will be restored after each battle in the world of Orience.
Immediately return to Akademeia at any time by accessing the field menu.

With all of that out the way, Click the door with "Main" over it to exit Akademeia and onto the world map.


WORLD MAP

Rubrum Region

McTighe, Aqvi and Corsi are the towns/cities in this region. Your goal is to move to McTighe. Random encounters will happen while on the world map, these will consist of either single fights or a chain fight of up to 5 battles. When you gain victory in a fight if there is a chain you will be asked if you want to continue fighting or flee, if you continue the enemies will get stronger each time till you finish all fights.
Pressing cn_S and cn_X together will bring up the chocobo menu, you won't get any encounters on the world map unless you hit an enemy that is wondering around. However there is no point in using a chocobo as it takes up a chocobo and McTighe is right in front of you.

You may want to get into a few fights to get a level or two before heading to your destination.

Completing your first encounter on the world up will unlock the trophy [ROAMING TERROR] and if you complete all five waves you will also unlock the trophy [Total Domination].





Random Encounter

When you get an encounter with multiple waves you will get a tutorial.

Tutorial 33.
After you win an encounter, more enemies might attack your squad.
Select Fight to engage or Retreat to run away.
Enemies will grow stronger with each successive battle.


If you lose any party members while on the world map, head back to Akademeia to return fallen members or start the mission and get a tutorial.

Tutorial 34.
Arecia will revive all fallen squad members when you return to Akademeia, enter a town or start a mission.


When ready head to McTighe and start the mission. When you approach the town you will get the Mission brief again along with "Begin Mission?" Click yes and begin your first mission.

Before you head out you have to select members to participate in the mission, click on all the cadets if you wish them to be in the reserve team, those you don't pick won't be able to be used.
Then you will be asked to change equipment. If you say yes you can choose everyone's weapon, accessories, commands and defense moves.
Then select active members(s). The one to three members you wish to use.
When done you will be asked to deply your squad, say yes.

You will then be asked if you want SP Support.
Select Accept to receive backup from cadets and other comrades from Akademeia on this mission. I would advice you accept as you can use the points you make to get better equipment once unlocked.

Tutorial 35.
Select Abort Mission from the field menu to abort the campaign.
You will lose all items, phantoma and SPP obtained, but retain all EXP and AP.



Area - McTighe Midtown (South)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Trooper x 3

Items:
Combat Ration x 1 (Random)

Fortified Ration x 1 (Random)

As you begin the mission you will see three Imperial Troopers retreating from you, chase them down and the door will close in front fo them, causing them to have to fight you. When you kill them you will get victory in this area, before heading to the next area, do a U-turn and there will be an item on the floor at the end, picking it up will give you a random healing item. Now go and head to the next area.

Area - McTighe Midtown (Central)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Trooper x 3

Items:
None.

As you enter there will be another three Imperial Troopers that you have to kill to bring victory to the area. Instead of heading north where you have to go, head east instead.

Area - McTighe Midtown (East)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Trooper x 4

Objects:
Barricade x 4

Items
Knowing Tag x 1

As you enter you will see a single Imperial Trooper in front of you as you get closer, around the corner will be another three along with four Barricades. When you bring victory, head to the first turning and look for a body that has a [Knowing Tag] you can grab.

Area - McTighe Midtown (Northeast)
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Enemies:
Leader - Second Lieutenant Mouton (Supersoldier)
Imperial Trooper x 2

Items:
Elixir x 1 (SO - Performance Evaluation: Fight your way through the enemy ambush - Time 5:00 - Effect 0:30 Protect)
First Aid Kit x 1

When you enter this area, Second Lieutenant Mouton is the leader along with two Imperial Troopers you can either kill all of them or just the leader and make the others surrender and give you items. When you bring victory move to the end and do a U-turn like the first area and at the end is an item, pick it up and get First Aid kit. Head back to the Central McTighe and head north from there.

Area - Imperial Line
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Enemies:
Leader - Lieutenant Theodore (Supersoldier)
Autoturret x 3
Imperial Trooper x 6

Objects:
Barricade x 4

Items:
Ferric Ring x 1 (SO - Performance Evaluation: Quickly occupy the enemy defense point - Time 5:00 - Effect 1:00 Invincible)

As you head into this area you are told that your allies are here to act as a diversion. You can either go along with them and fight your way through or head west and sneak around behind the enemy and take them out like that. I recommend the latter as you will get a special SO when you return and few extra kills from the next area so head west.

When you return to this area you will get a Red SO, accept it and try to clear the area out in 5 minutes. There are four Imperial Troopers by the first set of stairs the first time you came in and guarded by four Barricades as well as your targets, three Autoturrets. When you have defeated all of them the leader Lieutenant Theodore will appear with two Imperial Troopers. Killing Theodore will bring victory to this area. If you completed the SO and it's your first, you will also get a Trophy [Make Mother Proud]



Once finished, head east to the next area.

Area- McTighe Midtown (West)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:

Fortified Ration x 1

There will be three Imperial Troopers in this area, deal with them quickly to bring victory in the area and harvest, move to the far end area and pick up a Fortified Ration off the floor, head up the stairs and go back to Imperial Line, this time behind the enemy lines.

Area - McTighe Midtown (North)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

This area has two stairs with one being unaccessible, there are four Imperial troopers in this area, two Imperial Troopers will be on that platform to which you have to use range or magic to kill and two on the ground. Killing all four will bring victory in this area. There is a healing portal at the far end, use it and when finished, Move on to the next area.

Area - McTighe Midtown (Northwest)
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Leader - Second Lieutenant Necker (Supersoldier)

In this area you will find the leader Second Lieutenant Necker with three Imperial Troopers on balconies, you can't make these surrender as you can't reach them so you might as well use range or magic to kill these, there are a total of five waves and fifteen enemies on the balconies, you can use this to help farm phantoma towards the S rank. Once you bring victory by taking out the leader move on to the next area.

There are no enemies in this area, when you walk around you will get a tutorial.

Tutorial 36.
When one of your active squad members falls in battle, press cn_up to replace him or her with a cadet from the reserves.
Losing all cadets will result in game over.

Near the fire in the northwest of where you face from entering there is an item on the floor, pick it up to get [Combat Ration] when you are ready move to the next area, where the boss waits.

Area - Imperial Command
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Boss fight - Major Massena.

Major Massena is using a Nymurod which has some fairly damaging attacks for early game, beside him is a fuel tank you can target and destroy and if you kill one of the recurring imperial troopers in the area you will unlock the trophy [Collateral Damage].



He doesn't move other than a jump or turn sides to face you. He shoots two rockets at you if you are distant or tries to stomp you when you are close and if you are inbetween he will shoot a few bullets at you. Rush in and spam your magic to deal massive damage quick and then back off and try to hit Breaksights and eventually killsight to end it quickly.
You will bring victory in the area and complete the mission when you kill Major Massena.

If you complete the mission without a single casualty you will recieve the trophy [Miraculous Mission].

This class is designed for those completely unfamiliar with combat.

DFMG-100: Introduction to Defense Magic:

This class is targeted towards those with no experience casting Defense Magic. Students will:

Carla in Ready Room for the cutscene and a Pretty Pelt.

Kazusa in ARmory for the cutscene and start of sidequest as well as an Ether.


However you spend your 12 hours, when the time is up you will hear the siren and need to head to Classroom Zero for your Mission briefing.

Talk to Kurasame to learn that this mission is skippable but you will not receive any rewards.

Tutorial 37.
Participation in the following regional occupation campaign is optional.
You cannot earn rewards if you do not participate in these operations.
However, all occupation campaigns can be replayed from the Missions menu.

MISSION BRIEFING

Mission: Operation Reconquista.
Date: Pet. I, 842.
Mission level: 13.

Through the conscription and deployment of the Agito Cadets, the dominion sucessfully liberates McTighe. Using the newly retaken city as a base of operations, the dominion launches a large-scale campaign to reclaim the Rubrum Region. Under the command of their CO, Kurasame, Class Zero joins the campaign to execute special missions as an autonomous unit.

Either skip sortie or join.

If you join head towards the Main gate and leave Akademeia.

WORLD MAP

After a few steps onto the world map the Mission briefing will pop up, begin mission.

Select your reserves.
Change equipment if you wish.
Select one active member. (This will be the person you will use on the World map).
Deploy.

Victory Condition: Occupy Corsi.
Failure Condition: Lose McTighe.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Destroy the Autoturret.
2. Issue command to Domain 1 to attack Aqvi.
3. Neautralize the energy wall around Aqvi.
4. Invade Aqvi.
5. Take out the Commander of Aqvi and gain control of the stronghold.
6: Harvest 5 Phantoma in Aqvi.
7. Neautralize the energy wall around Corsi.
8. Invade Corsi.
9. Take control of Corsi.


You will be asked to show the tutorial for this mission, if this is your first time, it would help immensely. However I shall put down the tutorial here.

Tutorial 38.
The dominion will launch an occupation campaign against the empire.
Fulfilling the victory condition will end the mission, but triggering the losing condition will result in game over.

Afterwards you will be free to move, head towards McTighe and assist the troops in taking over Domain one.

The yellow arrow on the radar in the upper-right indicates your destination.

Press cn_left or cn_right to swap views.
Press the touchpad to display the theater map and view enemy information.

Assist by heading towards the enemy infantry and kill them, making sure your troops marches to Domain One, when they reach their destination they will start attacking and enemies will stop coming from that location.

Tutorial 40.
Use magic and physical attacks to defeat enemy units.

After you get hit for the first time you will get another Tutorial.

Tutorial 41.
Enemy units will attack when nearby and when under fire.
Halve damage from enemy counterattacks by striking from the rear.

Attack enemy units to dusrupt their deployment rate and create an opening for dominion troops to invade enemy domains.

When you reach Domain One along with your troops you will get another Tutorial.

Tutorial 42.
When enemies approach, domains and strongholds stop dispatching units and begin fortification. A shield icon indicates a base is strengthening its defenses and rallying its troops.
Direct allied troops to attack enemy bases on the defensive to prevent them from regrouping.
Only dominion units can deal damage to enemy domains and strongholds. Direct dominion troops toward enemy camps in order to achieve victory.

When your troops take over Domain One you will get another tutorial.

Tutorial 43.
Once occupied, enemy domains and strongholds will become dominion footholds from which you can dispatch troops. Approach a dominion domain or stronghold to recover MP.

Afterwards you will get a special mission from Mog.

Objective 2: Destroy the autoturrent.

The autoturret will be in the woods a little to the east of Domain One, there will be a walkpath for you to take and in the middle of the path the Turret will be there. Simply use magic or attack to destroy it.

Tutorial 44.
Mog occassionally offers special assignments that provide exceptional rewards for completion.

Once you destroy the turret you will be rewarded with control of Domain One along with another tutorial and objective.

Objective 3:
Issue command to Domain One to attack Aqvi.

Tutorial 45.
Complete special assignments to earn control over the bases and strongholds involved.
Press cn_X while near camps with a radar icon to issue commands.

Head towards Domain One and issue command to attack Aqvi. Use Blaze units as they deal better against Infantry. Afterwards you would have completed this objective and be given another.

Objective 4-6:
Invade Aqvi.

As you approach Aqvi you will get another tutorial.

Tutorial 45.
Energy walls refortify strongholds and protect against invasion.
The heart icon indicates a stronghold is strengthening its defenses.
Neutralize energy walls be dealing enough damage to their respective strongholds using your allied troops.

After your troops start attack and deal one bar of health of damage to Aqvi, their energy wall will disappear and you can invade the town. Before you can do that though you will get another tutorial.

Tutorial 46.
Approach a stronghold and press cn_X to initiate an invasion.
Complete special assignments during the operation to earn command over the stronghold.

AQVI

Before you start, accept SP Support.
You will then take control of your Active member and the two characters on top of the reserve list.

Area - Southern Square
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Troopers x 3

Items:
As you enter there will be a timer of 4:30 minutes before the commander escapes, plenty of time. There will be three Imperial Troopers, killing them will bring victory in this area. Either rush past them or kill and move onto the next area.

Area - Southern Avenue
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Enemies:
Leader - Major Herriot (Supersoldier)
Nymurod x 1
Imperial Troopers x 35

Items:
None.

When you enter this area the commander of Aqvi will be here, Major Herriot and along side him a Nymurod and five Imperial Troopers. Once you take out the target you will complete the objective and be given another to harvest 5 phantoma.

Simply kill Imperial Troopers and keep harvesting till you reach the requirement. Once you complete the objective you will complete this part of the Mission and be taken out to the World Map, you will be given command of Aqvi if you took out the commander before he ran away. As well as given another tutorial.

Tutorial 47.
Press cn_T and cn_O to ask Mog for strategies and tips regarding what to do next.

He will tell you to Neautralize the energy walls around Corsi however we will save that for last. Order Aqvi to send Blaze Units to Domain 2. As you do the Commander of Corsi will change strategy.

Tutorial 48.
Domains and strongholds have ranks indicating the strength of the units they dispatch.

Objective 7:
Defend McTighe from the Warrior Units.

Ordering Aqvi to attack Domain 2 should be enough to have your allies take it over, your job is to defend the HQ till they are done. Warrior Units will keep being sent to your HQ until Corsi is under attack. As your allies start attacking Corsi, run over and wait for the energy wall to disappear before invading. Doing so will complete the objective Mog gave you as you left Aqvi.

CORSI

Objective 8-9:
Take control of Corsi.

Area - Main Street
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Imperial Troopers x 3

Objects:
Barricade x 4

Items:
None.

When you enter there will be four Barricades and three Imperial Troopers behind them. Killing the troops will bring victory in this area. Either rush past them or kill and move on.

Area - Angular Alley
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Enemies:
Shock Trooper x 2
Imperial Trooper x 10

Items:
None

In this area you will get five Imperial Troopers and two Shock Troopers, as you kill the troopers a few more will appear, keep killing the enemy until you get the victory in this area. You have to kill everyone to make the energy wall disappear, now move on to the final area..

Area - Town Square
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Enemies:
Leader - Lieutenant Hamilton (Warrior)
Imperial Trooper x infinite

Items:
None.

Hamilton is using a Warrior Unit and not really considered the boss, however he is the one you need to kill to finish the Mission. Treat him as you do any other Warrior Unit. Dodge the combo attacks and ranged moves before dealing the damage yourself. He is accompanied by 2 respawning Imperial Troopers so focus on him unless you want to farm some Phantoma. Killing him will result in victory in this area and mission complete. Don't forget to quickly rush over to the surrendering enemy and talk to them to get items.

When you complete this Mission, this should be your third which will unlock the trophy [New Recruit]

Talk to the lonely girl that's by the tree, speak to her again to have some kids run up to her. Afterwards speak to all three kids before speaking with Nazuna again to see her run away, chase after her and speak with her again. Now head towards the exit and a Dominion Legionary will walk in, speak with them and choose the option "Of course I know her!" to receive an item "Letter to Nazuna" head back to her and hand over the letter. Afterwards you will receive [Yu'u's Crystal]

Completing this Task will reward you with a Silver Bracelet.

Talk with the Mayor and he will ask you to gather the townsfolk so he can give a speech. The list of people you need to talk to are:

  • Three people by the lady with "Task" above her head.
  • A man and woman standing together near the middle of the town.
  • The two kids running back and forth.
  • The shop owner and kids by the terminal.
  • The three men to the left of the town when you enter.
  • Three doors you need to knock on.

Afterwards speak with him and receive [Mizu'a's Crystal] or a Megalixir if this is your second time doing it.

Tutorial 47.
Stepping out into Orience causes six hours to elaspe.
You cannot leave Akademeia if less than six hours remain until your next mission.

Head towards the Hallway to get a chat scene with Dr, Arecia. This will unlock a new room for you to use, Altocrystarium, we will check that out later. For now save your game before we explore!

There are many things to do here and I will list everything possible. Before doing any of it I recommend you head to the Chocobo Ranch every 6 hours to breed them for two trophies. It's entirely up to you how you choose to spend your time before your next mission.

Chocobo Ranch

Hishow "Info"
Talk to Hishow to breed chocobos, I will put a guide to how to get the chocobos in the Misc section. A brief of how to breed is simple, Choose yes to Breed chocobos, then choose a male and female chocobo, afterwards choose one of the Gysahl Greens you received earlier. It will predict War Choboco as an outcome. Press cn_X to breed them, afterwards you have to wait 6 hours. Repeat this every 6 hours as it doesn't take up any time.

Main Gate

There is only a task in this area, tasks takes up no time but you can only accept one at a time. They are all missable and skippable however you will get rewards for each one. For a guide for these please check the sidequest part of this walkthrough.
After you complete your first task, Mog will reward you with an Elixer.

Tutorial 48:
Select one squad member to fight enemies and earn a small amount of EXP and phantoma.
End the training session by selecting "Abort Mission" or by exiting the arena.

Combat Simulation Guidelines.

- Only one squad member may participate at a time.
- Participants will earn both EXP and phantoma.
- Select "Abort Mission" from the field menu or exit the arena to end the session.
- The session will autumatically end when the participant falls in combat, but he or shee will retain all EXP and phantoma earned.
(Note: Participants are responsible for providing their own items and equipment.)

Talking to this person will ofer you a chance to use the Secret Training Program. Doing this will save your game and take you to the main menu, the longer you leave it the more EXP you recieve. Completing a Secret Training Program will unlock the trophy [Hard Work's Reward]

Select one squad member to earn EXP and stat boosts in between play sessions.

Knowing Tags are found on the bodies of dead soldiers and strewn about the battlefield.
Collect these dominion IDs and return them to the Class Eighth moogle.
The reward you receive changes depending on the number of tags you return at one time.

Take down 1 striker for the Class Ninth Cadet.

Help our investigation into the empire's magitek armor by taking down one of the Strikers in the Rubrum Region. We only want to investigate its parts, so don't worry about keeping it intact.
Deadline: Mission Day

Doing this task will reward you with an Ignis Primus, Vol II.

This is a new area that you only just got access to use. walk up to the device with a "?" on it and interact it for a cutscene.

Tutorial 50:
Enhance spells at the Altocrystarium and relic terminals around Orience.
New magic can be unlocked by fulfilling certain conditions.

Please refer to the Magic section in the Misc for a list of how to obtain all magics. What you should focus on upgrading for now is the MP Cost so you can spam spells for longer! Different spells need different phantoma.

Earn 100 SPP and turn them in to the Administration Official.

Call the special rescue team, the Support Personnel, and have them provide back up for you cadets to earn SPP.

Talking to Koharu will take 2 hours of your time and in return you will get a [Mega-potion].

Talking to this person will take 2 hours of your time and in return you will get a [Hi-potion].

Talking to Kazusa will take 2 hours off the clock, but you do get a chance to stop talking. If you decide to talk and continue the sub-quest he will take you the secret lab with a cutscene.

You have to be Ace to interact with Dr. Al-Rashia, doing so will take 2 hours of your time and gives you a cutscene.

Talking to this person will give you a tutorial.

Tutorial 51:
Fulfill tasks for people around Orience to receive carious rewards.
Undertaking one of these tasks will not elapse time.
Collect a reward by speaking to the client after completing the task.
On Mission day, collect your reward by reporting to a proxy at Akademeia.


If you want to start a few sub-quests then talk to:
Emina at the Terrace.
Naghi at the Lounge.
Kazusa at the Armory.

Spend the rest of your time as you see fit! When the time is up you will have to head to Classroom Zero.

MISSION BRIEFING

Mission: The Capture of Togoreth Stronghold.
Date: Ven. XXII, 842.
Mission Level: 13.

Hoping to gain an advantage by retaking Togoreth, the legions manage to repel the imperial forces. As combat closes in on the stronghold, however, Milites shores up its defenses, making the siege difficult for Rubrum. Central Command decides to send Class Zero along with other cadets to infiltrate the fortress.

Tutorial 52.
The swords mark on the map of Orience indicates your destination for each mission.

Now that you have your objective, head to the Main gate and get yet another tutorial!

Tutorial 53.
Monsters seen roaming Orience are extremely powerful and best avoided when at low levels.

This tutorial isn't kidding, every enemy you see on the world map are level 99 and will destroy your party if you are not a high enough level and properly prepared. Best avoid them for now.

Tutorial 54.
Use a Teleport Stone to escape from dungeons and wild monster encounters.
Teleport Stones can be purchased at shops but cannot be equipped.

After the tutorials you'll be on the world map, our goal leads to the north so head there by foot or chocobo if you don't wish to get encounters. Bare in mind monsters on the map can still fight you if you are on a chocobo so be careful.

TOGORETH REGION

When you enter this region you will notice monsters and chocobos on the map, the monsters will destroy you however if you run into a chocobo you will capture and keep that chocobo. Doing this enough times will unlock two trophies!

But don't go out of your way to get them as you may bump into a monster, when you are ready, head north to the City of Togoreth to start the Mission. You will get the briefing again, so begin the mission.

Choose the Reserves.
Change equipment.
Select active member(s).
Deploy.
Accept SP Support.

Before you take control you will get a tutorial.

Tutorial 55.
Activate backup settings to receive support from Akademeia and reduce the damage allies take.

As you walk up you will attacked by two Coeurls and an Imperial Trooper, as you continue you will be attacked by another two Coeurls and an Imperial Trooper, when you reach the gate the Leader will appear with three Coeurls, either kill them all or go straight for the leader. Killing him will bring victory to the area. Once you have, near the green crates is an item, pick it up to receive a Combat Ration. Towards the other green crates is a Hi-Potion, now head to the next area.

Area - Central Stairwell

As you enter the area, head towards the stairs, in front of you will be two Nymurods and three Imperial Troopers, once you have dealt with them, six more enemies, including the Leader in this area will appear on the walls, use long range magic or ranged attacks to deal with them, the enemies will keep spawning till you kill the leader. Either bring victory or run past them to the west exit.

Area - West Stairwell
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Fire [ROK-II] (SO - Endurance Test: Allow no casualties - Time 1:00 - Effect 0:15 Protect)

When you walk into this area, there will be a gate blocking your path north, you can attack and kill this enemy, Channelgate but be careful as he will summon a Golem eventually who will overpower you with every move. Either destroy the gate and head east, skipping most of the Mission but it's really not worth it. You will skip on getting some decent stuff, an Eidolon and a S rank. Head north and forget the enemies for now. If you insist on skipping these parts, scroll down to the area West Stairwell (2).

Area - North Gate
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

A basic fight, small area with five enemies, either focus on the leader or save him till last, once he is dealt with you will get a victory in this area. Head on through to the next.

This is a safe zone with a terminal, goodies and portal. Straight in front of you is an item next to a dead body containing a [Knowing Tag]. Moving further in is another dead body along with another [Knowing Tag], heading right instead of the next room there are two more items, one beside a third dead body and another [Knowing Tag] and an item by the bookshelf containing either a Hi-Potion or an Ether. Use the portal and save or change party memebers if you wish before heading on to the next area.

Area - MATERIEL STORAGE
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

There will be two allies as you enter but one will be killed, the other one is an SO to protect and doing so will give you Ace's weapon [Lustrous Deck] There are only three enemies however your ally has extremely low health. Bring victory to end combat and head towards the dead body in the corner and collect a [Knowing Tag].

Area - Inner Corridor
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

This area is a very narrow straight path, you will have three Imperial Troopers in front of you, one on each balcony above you and after a short time, two Warriors. You will bring victory by killing every enemy in this area.

As you enter the room you will find Koharu in the middle of the room, talk to her to get the [Summoner's Permit] along with the Eidolon [Ifrit] and a cutscene.

Hold cn_T + cn_O to sacrifice your active leader and summon an Eidolon.

Two Demonicons will break through the other side and attack you along with Imperial Troopers. You will gain victory by killing every enemy in the area.
You should also get the Trophy [Communing with the Gods] for getting Ifrit.



Area - Dynamo Access

As you enter, Golem will already be at the bottom waiting along with the Channelgate blocking the way you have to go. There is a Strength Serum on the floor in front of you if you ignore the stairs and a First Aid Kit on the other side. However we will be ignoring these enemies for now, run down the stairs and up the other and head through to the next area.

Area - First Laboratory

This is a safe zone, as you enter you will see a dead body with an item beside them, grab it to get a [Knowing Tag] to the right of that body is another body with a [Knowing Tag] and a portal to regain your HP and MP. On the other side will be Inari, if you came here straight away he will be alive and you can talk to him he will wonder where Koharu is, tell him which ever option you want and you will get his [Knowing Tag]. If you come here after going through to the main objective, Inari will be dead and you won't get the tag. Head back to the room with Golem and kill the Channelgate and go through.

Area - Central Dynamo

This is just a very small room where the objective is so interact with security system and turn this area into a safe zone with a save point and portal.

Area - Dynamo Access(Revisited)

When you re-enter this room, enemies will take replaced the Golem, to the right will be two Imperial Troopers and two Militesi Coeurls and after you kill them, to the left will be three Imperial Troopers and the Leader. Take the leader out to get a few enemies to surrender and free items from them before heading through to the Stronghold Core.

Area - Stronghold Core
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

When you enter you will have two allies at the bottom of the stairs along with two Imperial Troopers. Once dealt with another two will appear from the exit you came from along with two supersoldiers. Once you killed all the enemies you will bring victory to this area, to the far left is a Hi-Potion and to the far right is a Fortfied Ration. After you are done head on through, you can visit the Perimeter Gates for more enemies.

Area - Central Stairwell (Revisited)

Either head to the first area for a few more enemies or go north to continue the Mission.

Area - Perimeter Gates (Revisited)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

Area - West Stairwell (Revisited)

The enemies here will replace the Golem, you will get three Imperial Troopers that will retreat at first along with a Mid-size Carrier, a few more reinforcements will come around after you kill a few troops. Bring victory here by killing all the enemies. If you want a Megalixir head north otherwise carry on with the mission.

Area - North Gate (Revisited)
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

This is a long narrow area, at first you will have three troopers, one will retreat and as he does, Warrior units will start appearing, one, then two, followed by another two and eventually the Leader and another Warrior, to bring victory to this area you have to kill your way till the Leader appears and finish him off.

This area starts off with two Militesi Coeurls and an Imperial Trooper, as you get closer to the other side and kill them an airship, Mid-size Carrier, will appear and start attacking, once you have dealt with that the enemies will pour from the exit untill the Leader appears along with a Supersolider up by the railings, use range and magic to deal with the Supersolider or simply kill the leader to bring victory and move on.

Area - East Stairwell
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

U1-Shock Damper (SO - Acquisition Challenge: Search surrendered troopers for an item that can be used in battle - Time 2:00 - Effect 0:45 Invincible)

As you run through this area there will be three Imperial Troopers, once you have killed them another four will come through the exit on the other side. After you have dealt with them, the leader and two supersoldiers will appear, either got for the Leader to bring victory or kill the soliders first. Once done move on.

Area - North Stairwell
Victory: Defeat all enemies.

As you enter here there will be two Nymurods and Militesi Coeurls, one on the same level as you and the other half way up the stairs. The target is here too but you can not target him and he is in rage mode so be careful, when you deal with the two Nymurods two supersoldiers will appear, victory will come after you take out all enemies and the target escapes.

Area - Upper Corridor

This is the safe area, feel free to use the portal to heal up and save/change members as you see fit, when ready read to the next area.

Area - Imperial Command
Victory: Defeat enemy leader.

Enemies:
Boss - Commander Schmitz (Handgun)

Imperial Trooper x 5

Items:

As you enter and move to the open area, you will be attacked by an Imperial Trooper and a Supersoldier in rage mode, he can deal some nasty damage if you are a low level so focus on him first. As you up the stairs and move further in, four Imperial Troopers will appear, one on top by the banister, one at the corner while two more further down the corridor. Move towards the last room and the boss will appear along with two Supersoldiers.

This isn't really a boss but he can be a pain in the ass as he is in rage mode and his handgun fires quite a few rounds before reloading, each dealing a lot of damage, best to try and take out the other enemies before focusing on dodging all attacks looking for the breaksight (When he reloads) be patient and don't try and finish this off quickly as it may end up bad for you. Killing him brings victory to this area and will have a few cutscenes.

Area - Outskirts
Victory: Defeat General Qator Bashtar.

Boss - General Qator Bashtar
This guy is insanely fast, in a flying machine and packs one hell of a punch, you will have to dodge quite a lot and wait for an opening before hitting breaksights, near enough every hit will either kill you or leave you near death so be careful. He can cast Barrier on himself and has a variety of attacks, he will either shoot you with a machine gun, shoot with a homing energy ball, try to ram into you which will cause breaksight to appear, Fly across the area in a straight line causing a breaksight, use Barrier or go berserk with a flurry of attacks. After which you can breaksight hit him more than once, if you feel you can't handle this yet, summon Ifrit to deal with him or at least damage him enough for you to finish him off. When you eventually kill him you will bring victory to the area and complete the Mission.

Completing the Mission will reward you with a Silver Bangle.

Completing the Mission on Officer difficulty will get you the Eidolon [Shiva].

Completing the Mission on Finis difficulty will reward you with an Armory Inventory Update: Master's Mail now available.
