45. Assassin's Creed Origins Saqqara NomeUpdate notes

This region is fairly large, giving you a good amount of stuff to do before moving on to somewhere else.

Quest: A Gift from the Gods

Suggested: Lv23

Hide ads

Reward: 1500XP

Upon reaching the starting point for this quest, a meteorite will crash in the distance. Reach the crash site and investigate the tomb, then leave and look for a sundial to the north just outside. Wait until the shadow of the sundial hits the middle pillar just like the ruin shows, and three of the pillars will reveal blue crystals. In order to solver the puzzle, you need to shoot the center pillar first (the one that the shadow just passed over), then the one to the left of it (with the crystal facing south), then the pillar to the left of the tall one that casts the shadow. After hitting this one, hit the center crystal once more, followed by the left pillar for the final shot. When the puzzle is solved, re-enter the tomb.

Inside the tomb, interact with the shrine past the doorway, and you'll see some rather interesting things as part of a crossover with Final Fantasy XV, as if the XV from the sundial puzzle didn't give it away already. The items you get from this quest are scaled to your level, so you can use them immediately.

Quest: A Rebel Alliance

Suggested: Lv24

Reward: 2250XP

A man named Theodoros wants to kill a very dangerous military commander, Derratos. Rescue him from his cage and escort his men to Bakchias in Faiyum. Defeat the soldiers here and talk to Theodoros to go over the next course of action. You'll want to get Derratos's scribe and bring him to the rebels, and you can find him at the Sarapeion just a half kilometer west from here. Simply taking him back to Theodoros will end the quest, but will create another one in Faiyum.

Quest: First Blood

Suggested: Lv23

Reward: 1500XP

Inside the pyramid, Bayek notices a shrine to Rudjek, the man he killed at the very start of the game. Investigate the area and you'll finish this fast quest.

Quest: Rites of Anubis

Suggested: Lv23

Reward:

2250XP

For this quest, you'll be meeting up with an acquaintance of Bayek's, named Nefertari. As you follow her, she'll tell you that Anubis has been upset since Bayek left this place. He'll agree to lighting the flames at each of the three shrines to appease him. Just travel to the three torch locations and light them, then return to Nefetari to start the next quest, When Night Falls.

Quest: When Night Falls

Suggested: Lv23

Reward: 3000XP, Mount

After lighting the torches in Rites of Anubis, Bayek will agree to escort a healer to a hideout filled with injured rebels. Meet up with the healer and ride to the outpost, where you'll be asked to carry some rebels to the back of the place. The healer will have lit the brazier for some reason, alerting the nearby soldiers. Defeat them all and confront the healer to end the quest.

Location: Bent Pyramid of Sneferu

Location: The southern of two pyramids in the middle of the region.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place is tied to the Rites of Anubis quest, so you'll want to start that first before coming here. When you get here, enter the pyramid through the north side, defeat some snakes, and climb up to a destructible wall. Smash it and drop a torch on the ground so you can light an arrow on fire and shoot it at the black vase. Once it's destroyed, leave the pyramid and scale the west side. With the vase out of the way, you can move the object here and continue into the pyramid. The treasure for this place will be just past it, as well as the torch for the Rites of Anubis quest. You can also start the First Blood quest in this same room.

Location: Cobra Lair

Location: Next to the second highest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

This is a pretty interesting animal lair just because of the fact that cobras can be killed with torches. Slide under a slit in the walls next to the alpha cobra and kill the three inside this lair.

Location: Ekdikesis Outpost

Location: Southwest of the highest viewpoint, past Psammos Hideout.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place appears to have been long-abandoned. Nothing will get in your way as you reach the treasure here.

Location: Hugros Hideout

Location: At the eastern border, almost within Memphis.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This hideout is a cave with a river running through it. Ledges and grass make it easy to sneak up on everyone, including the captain.

Location: Hyena Lair

Location: South of the city of Nitria.

Objectives: Kill Animal

The typical animal lair. There's a torch here that you need to light for the Rites of Anubis quest, so you should start that before coming here.

Location: Leopard Lair

Location: To the east, on the border of Saqqara Nome and Ineb-Hedjet Nome.

Objectives: Kill Animal

The alpha leopard here is only Lv20, so you should already be ready for it when you get here.

Location: Mryitmw High

Location: West of the lowest viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There's nothing here but the treasure. You might run into some hyenas if you linger around for too long, but that's about it.

Location: Per Our Hideout

Location: South of the second highest viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There are a lot of tough enemies here. It'd be a good idea to try and go in stealthily to take care of as many enemies as possible so you can get to the treasure unharmed.

Location: Psammos Hideout

Location: Southwest of the highest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

There's some grass here that will let you shoot arrows into almost everyone's heads here, which will leave the cave to the right open for you to run into. The treasure is in there.

Location: Ruined Temple of Mafdet

Location: In the northwest corner of the region.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

Some leopards will give you some trouble here. If you can handle about four of them around Lv22, you should be fine.

Location: Stranded Natron Caravan

Location: Northeast of the city of Nitria.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This broken-down caravan seems peaceful at first, but you'll be ambushed when you get close. See if you can sneak behind the ambush and ambush them before they do the same to you.

Location: Tomb of Djoser

Location: By the second highest viewpoint.

Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet

This place is a bit of a maze, but it shouldn't take you more than ten minutes to get through everything this tomb has to offer. There are about four pieces of silica in here as well.

Location: Tomb of Sneferu

Location: The northern of two pyramids in the middle of the region.

Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet

There are some weight puzzles in this tomb. The first one requires you to put two weights on the first platform you get to, which will allow you to jump from a tall object to the higher platform. From here, you can make your way up the wall to the next puzzle. Just get to the platform with a big vase on it and break it, then put more weights on the opposing lift until you can jump from an unbreakable vase to the original platform. The only thing up here is a piece of Silica, but you need every bit you can get. The real puzzle is in the room to the right. The term "puzzle" is used very loosely here, as you just need to make sure three weights are on the platform just to the right of you when you enter the room. The tablet will be at the top of this last puzzle.

Location: Unfortunate Stash

Location: By the city of Nitria, which is to the west of the northern pyramid in the middle of the region.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There are some snakes next to this treasure. You can slip past them if you want.

Location: Vulture Lair

Location: Northeast of the city of Nitria.

Objectives: Kill Animal

A standard animal lair. I was fortunate enough to only have the alpha vulture show up here. If that's always supposed to happen, then you should have no trouble killing this thing.
