Posted on 07 May 22 at 10:00Could be very beneficial. Square is slowly killing itself with trying to go down the Blockchain and NFT route. So it's only a matter of time before they go with way of Telltale. At least this way they won't have to go through the hassle of renewing IPs once the company goes under.
Posted on 07 May 22 at 10:53Embracer is doing pretty well with most of the licenses they currently own and Square was just wasting them so I think this acquisition is a good thing. And I just want a new Deus Ex.
Posted on 07 May 22 at 11:09It seems like SE knew it wasn't doing well with these franchises. Could be good for these games, but it'll take years to get them anyway.Congratulations on your platinum.
Posted on 07 May 22 at 12:10I mean I wonder how this works for Hitman, cause they only had to give Square Enix first rights to publish
Posted on 07 May 22 at 12:26Don’t know, and should have been another choice than just yes or no. I have never heard of Embracer before this.

It is absurd that Shadow of the Tomb Raiders budget was in the same league as GTA & Red Dead. And I loved the reboots. Even thinking back to iOi's Hitman games, they are fuckin GEMS too. Square clearly mismanaged then blamed these quality studios. I'd love to see Avengers continue to grow, GotG sell more, and see the return of Legacy of Kain.Xbox has either brought in, or supported several bad trends in gaming. Paid online, paid skins, and Micro-transactions, and games as a service
Posted on 07 May 22 at 18:41Wish there was a maybe or a don't know on the poll.Because it really remains to be seen. Square Enix wasn't really doing anything good with them and there definitely is room for the IPs to revive under a new publisher.
Posted on 08 May 22 at 04:15Square Enix took a single-player, heavy story and character-driven series like Legacy of Kain, and tried to turn it into an esport PvP game. You can't do any worse.

Posted on 09 May 22 at 14:51Why do you have to start a poll for everything? Feels like pure desperation to increase site interaction.
