Well, that's an awfully honest article if I've even seen one. Kudos

Exactly what I expected, but held out hope that I would be wrong. You can find the physical versions at lower prices.

The digital PS5 looks a lot nicer without that tumor on the side, but this is what You'll be dealing with.

Sekiro is £30, on Amazon it's £37. It's tempting, not sure if it's been on sale for less before.

Edit: My bad, just realised this is talking about PS5 games mainly.

It’s rare that TT/TA are actually critical (and I love to see criticism) but there are actually a lot of good deals in this sale, albeit for older games.

To be honest, when you have a PS4 backlog like mine, the prices of the PS5 games on the store doesn't even really factor in. I can wait until we see the big games really cheap, as there isn't really any console defining game that's been released on it yet. Best game so far might literally be Astro's Playroom, and that's a freebie to begin with.

Also you're completely right about the Digital version looking better. It definitely looks like it's the design Sony wanted it to look like. I imagine by the time of PS6/7 discs will be entirely obsoleted by digital libraries personally.

Oh wow, thank you, I honestly wish we’d have more sincere and also money savvy people like you in the world, dude/suddette.

You just have to wait a little bit longer for deep discounts on digital games. Or wait for those "ultimate editions" with DLC included, etc.

Anything with "Call of Duty" in the title excepted...

Alot of games I'm starting to wait for complete editions. I'm starting to see it as the cheaper option most of the time.

Kes, as much as I'm enjoying these quips in your posts (and you know I am, since I'm reading so many), they're really far from house style. Do the other writers know about this; are you going rogue? Are we going to start seeing your name on wanted posters?

Jokes aside, probably a bit optimistic to hope for deep discounts on PS5 games. It's only 6 months old, they are still in the launch window for game dev meaning precious few exclusives that take advantage of the new hardware. They need that money.

And honestly, with the console demand still exceeding supply, everyone still trying to buy (still at launch price) is an early adopter and therefore more economically lucrative. If you're willing to pay £70 a game then Sony should make the most of you while it can. Discounts will come in time but it's another reason why buying the digital only console must mean you are either prepared to wait or prepared to pay more.
I never change, except in my affections.

I have to say I heartily agree with this and didn't consider the idea of a 'first adopter hangover', if you will. But, when Sony make a blog post talking about the discounts it is doing a few days beforehand for a fairly large (by its standards) event, I think I just expected a little more. Not going from 70 to 20 or anything, but 70 to 45/50, maybe? I don't think it is too deep, gets good exclusives into the hands of more gamers at a higher rate, and offers a chance for early adopters to splurge a little when they might not have otherwise. I absolutely believe in ensuring that games are priced relative to market inflation, so I do not have a problem spending that 70 on a game I want (see - Ratchet, Horizon, Uncharted, any pirate game, etc), just in case that was what it sounded like!

The jokes stuff is a bit of a test I think haha. Luke puts up with it, at least. We are just trying for a little more editorial style for our TT content, and across TA too, so we can start feeling like we are putting out a unique voice. But since I see you everywhere I go on the site (thank you, btw), please keep tabs on my jokes haha. Let me know if they grate and I'll put myself back in check!

Sekiro for half off seems pretty great, but I feel like it might go on sale for cheaper towards black friday/christmas. Overcooked all you can eat is on sale, for anyone interested. WAIT! Sorry for yelling, but from a trophy hunter prospective. Someone who got 100% in the first game, and platinumed the second one. The list for that game is rough, if you don't have 4 controllers or 3 friends who want to play the game. They added a bunch of annoying trophies. And 20% off is not worth the frustration of that. I will say, if you are looking for a fun coop game, journey to the savage planet is a blast. If you like witty humour, and SPACE. and half off is the lowest I have seen it. I know, above I mentioned sekiro and it's price n'that. But, I just have that feeling with its deal getting that much better. Or free with ps+. savage planet, half off, maybe the lowest it will go for at least another year. "indie" games can be weird like that with sales. And if you haven't bought the outer worlds yet, just do it. If you enjoy fallout to any extent. You will enjoy it. Sorry for the long spiel, kinda got into it for a sec there. Take care people!

Hits the spot, if you ask me. toast

And it's certainly more fun to read than the "lets post a Twitter post and then repeat what the Twitter post said" articles. wink

I check every sale that is going on for quite some time now and them prices are mostly the same, especially the Resident Evil series older gems never drop as low as €7,99. This game is 12 years old man...smh part 1.

As for the always going sale for Grand Theft Auto V - Online never drops as low as €14,69. This game is 8 years old...smh part 2.

Then you can say yea CRAPcom and POGstar never drop as low as those pricings on digital sales.

This article should get fixed... it says that Overcooked: All You Can Eat is 67% off... I would have thought that was a good deal, except the fact that its not... it's 25%. Still going for over 40$ CDN atm.

I apreciate that you're trying to look at the brighter side with the Sekiro deal... but seriously, the game is 2 years old already, it should be more than 50%, unless its reg price is only 40$, but it doesn't and still sells for 80$ here, ridiculous.

TLOU Part 2 - that's been a regular sale for the last almost 10 months. Nothing new, nor improved with the discount.

Kingdom Come - that special edition was cheaper on black friday last year from local stores.

The Outer Worlds - it's going for 20$ "On Sale" ... bought it brand new from a retailer here for only 10$ around 3 months ago.

I am gonna look into Journey to the Savage Planet, cause I've never heard of it, and now you caught my attention with Co-op.

But I still agree with your original assessment that this sale sucks.
