Wow this is certainly good news!
A total of 11 games will remain as compatible with PS4 only.
    I only count 10, think that's a small mistake.

However, select PS4 titles will benefit from the PS5's Game Boost feature, which will see PS4 games get a bump in performance and smoother frame rates.
God I can only hope Sony will treat their exclusive Bloodborne with this. The 30fps really limits the game with what it can be. Just yesterday someone named Lance McDonald made a mod that allows the game to run in 60fps and it's amazing. Sony pls

Thanks for telling us about this!

I wonder if that's actually the full list. It seems unlikely that they fully tested every single game. Although some of those that are listed aren't exactly popular.

For real! I am really disappointed in Sony's lack of interest in Backwards Compatibility. The usage % on the original PS3 that had full back compat must be REALLY low.

I hope Jim Ryan pulls his head put if his 3rd point t of contact, and starts full backwards compatiblity with PS, PS2, & PS3. Because the legacy of those platforms needs to be preserved.

It truly can't be that expensive of an endeavor, despite what Mark Cerny has said
Xbox is hurting gaming. They have made record profits with few games. Shifting focus on adding more & more subscriptions, with 0 exclusives

See now that is a false narrative going around about Xbox. Xbox has a little over 600 game between Xbox, and Xbox 360 that are Forwards Compatible. NOT true backwards compatibility.

The OG Xbox had 1001 Games.

    Xbox 360 had 2085.

So, that's 19% of the 6 & 7 Gen that is backwards compatible. Xbox has done an admirable job with bringing older games forward, but there is still much work to be done by MS & Sony.

I was reading the other day (well my colleague found it) that the PS3's that had PS2 BC outsold most other models. If that's not proof (and certainly the popularity of 360 games on XOne) isn't anything to prove people want it, I don't know what is.

The problem some of the 360 games had though was down to the licencing of the product, some were neber renewed by publishers or picked up when a publisher went out of business.
Xbox has proved there is a huggggeeeee market for it though. Hell on PS4 I have most of the PS2 library available on PSN.

I very much doubt that your Switch will play NES cartridges. You might be able to buy a handful of those old games (again,) but that doesn't make it backwards compatible.

Yeah, the licensing issues are a problem. I didn't say it directly in my original post, but I did allude to it, about Mark Cerny saying it being expensive. I was alluding to System on a Chip. That way it removes all the hassle of licensing. For us, to just be able to put on our old discs and play our games.

And for those games that they can get licensed, and sell on PSN, GREAT! That way we can back up old games digitally

People really need to give it up with the PS3 already. It’s been said loud and clear it’s never going to happen. The PS3 architecture was a nightmare and developers hated it. Also remember, the ONLY reason the Xbox 1 added it, was because it was the only card for them to pull because they were getting destroyed in console sales. So, let’s not think MS did it out of kindness. They also have a to more money since Xbox isn’t their main source of income.
