Pure Pool Coming Soon

By Valiant_Gideon,
In the states it’s called Pool, others refer to it as Billiards, and in China it is named Taiqiu (which loosely translates to platform ball). Regardless of what you call it, pool is a sport with worldwide appeal. The basic game, in its various forms, is followed by millions around the globe and is hugely popular in Asia. Whether you are an avid fan and the names Shane Van Boening and Lee Van Corteza (or my personal favorite Fu Xiao Fang) mean something to you, or you happen to be an occasional stickman, the latest offering from VooFoo Studios will be of interest to you.

Previous titles from VooFoo have been, in a word, beautiful, and Pure Pool looks to be every bit as gorgeous. From the baize, to the balls and the pool hall environment, this game aims to show off the graphical capabilities of this generation.

Gameplay will offer several options in single player mode, including 8-Ball and Killer. Multiplayer will give players the chance to join online leagues or compete in one-on-one matches. The goal, according to the game’s creators, is to give gamers “the most authentic pool experience outside of real life”.

Pure Pool will track players’ individual playing styles and create a unique DNA profile by compiling statistics on everything from the type of shots one typically takes to how long it takes a player to shoot. This information is used to create AI interpretations of everyone who plays the game. This means you can compete against your friends whether they are online or not. The game will also include DNA profiles of some of the game's greats. So if you find defeating your friends much too easy, perhaps you would like to take a shot at the superstars of the sport.

Pure Pool will be shooting onto the Playstation 4 on July 29th in North America and July 30th in Europe.

We've got the full list of Pure Pool trophies - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
